What is the meaning of the National Day of Prayer?
It stands as a call for us to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people. The unanimous passage of the bill establishing the National Day of Prayer as an annual event, signifies that prayer is as important to our nation today as it was in the beginning.

For you are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him. 2 Samuel 22:29-31

Calling all prayer warriors! On behalf of the entire Executive Committee, Dr Tim Hill is calling the Church of God to join him for 15 day global prayer focus beginning May 1 through May 15. This daily prayer emphasis focuses on the mounting and critical needs throughout the world as well as upcoming Church of God 79th International General Assembly.

A special live event led by General Overseer, Tim Hill, is planned on Thursday, May 2 at 9:00 am EST in observance and recognition of National Day of Prayer. The 30-minute event will be broadcast via the Church of God’s digital platforms on YouTube and Facebook () and take place from the David C. Blair Center at the Church of God International Offices with a live audience.

The 15-day prayer emphasis will feature a number of church leaders each day who will pray over a specific aspects of the General Assembly. More information, resources, and ideas are to come and will be posted on COGHQ social channels and churchofgod.org
