You may be wondering …. Worship…. Why are you suggesting we do family worship every day? Isn’t worship for Sunday mornings? Why are you suggesting we do it every day?
Well, let’s refocus on what worship is…
“The inner essence of worship is to know God truly and then respond from the heart to that knowledge by valuing God, treasuring God, prizing God, enjoying God, being satisfied with God above all earthly things. And then that deep, restful, joyful satisfaction in God overflows in demonstrable acts of praise from the lips and demonstrable acts of love in serving others for the sake of Christ.” - from Desiring God - What is Worship
Instead of focusing on the news, or how your job went or any other number of things that pulls our attention, let’s be intentional about who God is in our lives and to us. This past Sunday in the Children's sermon we focused on what God is like. (Check out our YouTube page to replay it )
This week, now that you have your time figured out, spend just a few minutes with your family focused on God, praising Him for who He is.
Whether you are starting or ending your day with this, read a Bible verse as a “call to worship” - (if you follow on YouTube, our services have the scripture listed for the call to worship.) Or you can find a verse that focuses on who God is and that he’s worthy of our praise.
We’ll continue this thought for the next 6 weeks - building on the concept; slowly building this habit.

This past Sunday, Pastor Brett talked with our about the idea that we’ve been talking about at VBS this week! God is UNCHANGING! The truth about God is ROCK SOLID!
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That means that if he's forgiving to us now, he's going to be forever. If he's loving to us now, he's going to be forever. If he's patient with us now, he's going to be forever, and so we can continue trusting him and loving him and serving him knowing that He's for us and not against us and that He doesn't change so we can trust Him.”

Was your in service this past Sunday? Pastor Seth talked with us about how we can be faithful because we trust God and His plans.
Share this with your kids to help them understand how if God cares for the sparrow, he can (and does) care for you and me!
It’s Summer - The kids are free and wild, and you’re still trying to manage your job. This is the month life is a bit crazy - even with less on that calendar.
Actually, maybe it’s the lack of routine that makes it a bit more crazy.
Can we make a suggestion?
Try starting your day (or ending the kids’s day) with a few minutes of family worship.
GAH! Like you need one more thing, right?
Well, hold on, it’s not as hard as you think.
Over these next 7 weeks we’ll share tips here on how to do one thing this week to build your family worship time.
So where do we start?!?!?!
Let’s start easy this week.. let’s commit to do just 1 thing….
Find a good time to squeeze in 15 minutes to pray/read a Bible verse/ sing or pray some more.
As we go through the next 7 weeks, we’ll build on this… Habits are tricky to form… Taking too big of a bite too soon and you feel like there’s no way you can add that much into a day, but adding little bites one at a time, it’s easy peasy. So take this week to figure out is it going to be better to start your day with this, or end your day, or is dinnertime going to be the best time? Parties come up, other fun activities may come up, but see if you can find a time to carve out every day.
Here’s some encouragement mom and dad!

This week's Sunday school lesson was on Daniel 6, where the kids learned about Daniel and the Lion’s den.
In this lesson, the kids learned about the next king of Babylon. Since King Belshazzar had died as the handwriting on the wall stated.
But King Darius was not any better. He too didn’t respect God or God’s laws.
He made laws that went against God’s laws. Daniel was faced with a decision - follow God’s law or do what King Darius commanded. Daniel knew what was right (God’s law) so he knew he had to break the king’s law. And he knew the consequences would be very bad.
Where we saw last week that God takes His law seriously, we continue to see that this week. Only this week we saw someone (Daniel) sticking to the laws of God. God protected Daniel because he followed Him. Daniel didn’t stick to God’s word in order to be considered Holy - He did so because he trusted God. He believed that God had a better plan than he did and he believed that what God said was true. Just as we heard in the Children’s sermon this morning, we can trust God, whatever we’re going through. We can go to Him and know that His plans are good.

This week's Sunday school lesson was on Daniel 5, where the kids learned about The writing on the wall.
In this lesson, the kids learned about the next king of Babylon, King Belshazzar. He had a big banquet for a thousand of his nobles. King Belshazzar wanted to impress all of his guests. He remembered some gold and silver cups in storage. (They were the cups stolen from the now-destroyed temple of God in Jerusalem.) Belshazzar did not care that these were special cups only to be used in God’s temple. He ordered the servants to bring the cups so his guests could use them to drink more.
Then all of a sudden, a giant hand appeared out of nowhere when everyone began using those special cups and started writing on the wall.
The king was very frightened. He wanted to know what the words meant. Daniel told the king what the writing meant. “Mene means that your days are numbered. You will not be king long. Tekel means that you have been weighed on God’s scales and you are not good enough. Peres means that your kingdom is divided and another country will take away your kingdom.”
God takes his laws seriously! It doesn’t matter that King Belshazzar wasn’t the one that took them. The point is that they should not have been used for anything other than to worship God. We praise God for His Holiness. And for his justice. And most importantly for his provision for us in His Son, Jesus Christ.

This week's Sunday school lesson was on Daniel 3, where the kids learned about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
In this lesson, the kids learned that the king of Babylon, King Nebuchadnezzar, made a giant golden statue that was 90 feet high. He ordered everyone in Babylon to worship it whenever the music played. Many prophets had already warned God’s people not to worship idols. Some astrologers told the king that three of the captives from Judah named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship the idol.
God was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace and protected them from the flames. Remember: God is present and our faith is strengthened when we unite!

This week's Sunday school lesson was on Ezekiel 37, where the kids learned about the dry bones coming to life.
In this lesson, the kids learned what it means to have a new heart and a new life. God told Ezekiel to warn the people He would judge them for the choices they were making. The people knew they were making choices that were wrong in God’s eyes. The way we “turn to God” is to turn away from doing things our own way and turn to doing things God’s way. God promises a new heart to anyone who turns to Him. By sending Jesus, God made the way for this promise to come true. Your heart is new and different because it now puts God first. You may not feel different, but your new heart helps you love others the way God loves them.

Having an armor will protect you (Ephesians 6) BUT you can’t trust in your armor,
you need to trust in the Lord! (Luke 11:22)
Once you take out a bad thing, you have to replace it with a good thing. (Luke 11:24-26)

This past week’s Sunday school lesson was on Jeremiah 1, where the kids learned about the prophet Jeremiah.
In this lesson, the kids learned that God had ordained Jeremiah’s purpose in life from before he was even born. He was going to be God’s prophet to bring bad news to God’s people. But he bravely obeyed God and shared a message that wasn’t popular. And even though he faced challenging events, Jeremiah continued to obey God.
