Our Anatomy classes are learning about their muscles! It’s challenging because I’m making them use their anatomy vocabulary and prior knowledge from the skeletal system to help find where their muscles originate from and insert into! Their projects also include an exercise portion so these kids are getting stronger intellectually and physically!

Today I used a lesson handed down to me from a veteran teacher. I’m so grateful for this woman’s support through the years. It’s amazing to be part of a community that is willing to do what it takes to see our students succeed.

In this lesson my anatomy and physiology students identified bones they saw in x-rays. In some of the images they were able to see fractures, joint replacements, and mild scoliosis among other things. I was so impressed with how quickly they were able to start recalling what they learned in our lesson!

We’ve been having lots of fun in class this past week! Students have been practicing CPR skills and will soon be certified life savers!

Students completed an integumentary system project and we had some creative dessert models made, check out their amazing artwork!

We are also learning about the skeletal system, check out the playdo bones!

These Pirates are so smart, skilled and creative. What an honor to see it!

In Health Science Foundations students are adulting with an insurance game of LIFE.

They are getting surprise medical bills and life bills with occasional gifts and balancing their accounts.

They are considering deductibles, copays, and coinsurance as they navigate life. If you or one of your students is in this class they can empathize with adulthood a little more today!
