Our firm was founded in the early 1950s by Edward L. Trader and we have been serving Brevard County residents for over 70 years!

Rudi and Kim, second- and third-generation attorneys, respectively, continue the family tradition, providing legal assistance to Brevard County residents in the areas of family law, estate planning, and probate/trust administration.

All Eighteenth Judicial Circuit courts will be closed Monday, January 15, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, January 16.

Beginning Thursday, February 23, the City Hall parking garage will be staffed by a security guard on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

The security guard will be stationed at the booth at the vehicle entrance to the garage and will perform periodic walk-throughs of stairwells and will patrol each level of the garage and the immediate area surrounding the garage. The security guard will provide services during the following hours:
• Thursday, 6 p.m. to Friday, 1 a.m.
• Friday, 8:30 p.m. to Saturday, 3 a.m.
• Saturday, 8:30 p.m. to Sunday, 3 a.m.

Security Operations and Solutions will be providing the security guard service and will work with the Melbourne Police Department to improve safety in the parking garage during the late evening and early morning hours after downtown entertainment establishments close. Future security enhancements include the installation of cameras in the garage and garage stairwells.

Advisory # 2, Subtropical Storm Nicole
Brevard In-Court Proceedings Canceled on Wednesday, November 9

Based on the latest weather advisory, Chief Judge Jessica Recksiedler will close Brevard County courthouses for court proceedings tomorrow, Wednesday, November 9, in addition to Thursday, November 10.

Seminole is still closed only Thursday, November 10. As a reminder courts are closed Friday November 11, in observance of Veteran’s Day.

As stated previously, Nicole is expected to become a Category One Hurricane when it hits Brevard County and the latest forecast calls for bands of higher sustained winds to hit the coast of Brevard on Wednesday.

Please note: The Chief Judge does not make the decision to close the entire courthouse, as the Clerk of Court and other county agencies will make their own determinations. However, it is incumbent on the Chief Judge to notify all court litigants that proceedings will not be held at the courthouses. Depending on the nature of the proceedings, some judges may decide to continue their individual court schedules virtually.

The decision to cancel court proceedings does not come lightly, however, the safety of jurors, the public and Court personnel must always take priority.

- Locate and develop case relevant information
- Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Maintain contact lists
- Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars

Skills
- Proven working experience as legal assistant or legal secretary
- Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system
- Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
- Computer literacy
- Proficiency in English
- Working knowledge of case management software
- Excellent secretarial and organisational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
