Team Memphis Rescue & Support is a 501C3 non-profit all-breed rescue.
Congratulations to Team Memphis Alum “Jovi” for placing in Garden & Gun’s 2024 Good Dog Photo Contest! Her doting family adopted her from Team Memphis Rescue & Support at the end of September after meeting her at a BBQ cooking contest that she attended with her foster mom, Joelle! Not bad for a puppy left in a kennel on the side of the road with her mom and littermates - the best part is that she is a loved member of an amazing family!!

Meet Ginger (called Syon at Memphis Animal Services)
Weight: 48 lbs of love and laughter
Status: Spayed (no surprise puppy parties here!)
Vaccinations: Up to date
**Background**
Rescued from the euthanasia list at Memphis Animal Services (MAS)-now she's living the good life!
Ginger's journey is a testament to resilience and hope. Once on the euthanasia list, she was given a second chance at life through the dedication of compassionate rescue volunteers who saw her potential for joy and companionship. Now, this sweet girl is thriving and ready to share her vibrant spirit with a loving family.
**Behavioral Highlights**
Ginger has a natural affinity for children and is great with them! Her gentle nature makes her an ideal companion for families, and she seems to understand the importance of being patient and playful. She's perfect for parents in need of a furry babysitter who can keep the kids entertained while also providing comfort and companionship.
When it comes to cats, Ginger's behavior is still a mystery. She may view them as fancy toys or potential pals, but her interactions will need to be monitored. Introducing her to feline friends could lead to some amusing antics, so it's best to proceed with caution.
*Toys:* While toys aren't really her forte, Ginger does enjoy an occasional showdown with a red wiener dog. These playful encounters bring out her spirited side, showcasing her ability to engage and have fun, even if she doesn't have a favorite toy.
**Personality**
Ginger's personality is one of her most endearing qualities. She is wonderfully submissive and sweet, displaying a delightful habit of dropping to the ground and showing you her belly quicker than you can say "good girl!" Her playful demeanor is complemented by a unique headbanging move that would make rock stars jealous-one look at her and you can't help but smile.
When called, Ginger comes running, which is more than we can say for some humans! Her eagerness to please and her responsiveness to commands make her a joy to have around. She loves to snuggle, often curling up next to her human like a furry blanket. There's nothing quite like the warmth and affection of a dog that thinks of you as their whole world.
Ginger also has a quirky way of showing affection-she nibbles at fingers gently, making you chuckle and think, "Dinner for one, anyone?" This charming behavior is just one of the many ways she expresses her love and connection to those around her.
**Conclusion**
In summary, Ginger is not just a dog; she's a fluffy comedian ready to fill your life with joy and a few giggles. With her playful spirit, loving nature, and heartwarming backstory of being rescued from the euthanasia list, she's looking for a forever home that will appreciate her unique personality. Ginger is sure to bring endless love and laughter to any family lucky enough to welcome her into their hearts!

**Meet Axel - The Chief Mischief Maker!**
Name: Axel
Breed: Hound-Retriever Mix (the ultimate adventure buddy and "sniff master with a PhD in Funology!)
Gender: Male
Age: 6 months (growing like a w**d and still in his adorable puppy "ninja phase!)
Neutered: Absolutely! He will never have babies-just a lifetime supply of love and mischief!
Vaccinations: Up to date (he's ready to conquer the world, one tail wag at a time!)
**Background**
Once upon a sizzling summer day, Axel was discovered in a small kennel with his mom and siblings, likely concocting a plan to escape their "cuddle prison. Picture a tiny hound plotting their great escape while dreaming of a life filled with endless toys and treats! But fear not-Axel's heroic journey led him to a brighter future, ready to trade his kennel days for the plush comfort of a cozy couch and an unlimited supply of belly rubs. Now, he's on a quest to find his forever home, where he can unleash his playful spirit and show everyone that life is better with a wagging tail and a squeaky toy in paw!
**Personality Traits**
This little guy is a certified toy enthusiast! The more toys, the merrier-he believes every squeaky toy is a long-lost friend waiting to be reunited. Axel is also a notorious blanket thief, dragging them outside at every chance he gets, as if to say, "This is my fort now! If you happen to have a toy stash, Axel will declare it a "playground of awesomeness and invite his friends for a raucous playdate!
**Chaser of Small Animals**
Watch out, voles, chipmunks, and frogs-Axel is on a mission to chase them! He loves to explore and is always ready for a playful pursuit, making every outdoor adventure exciting. While he enjoys the thrill of the chase, he's also got a heart full of love and a penchant for fun!
**Socialization**
Axel's social skills are off the charts! He plays well with all dogs and has the charisma of a puppy party planner. He's especially friendly with kids, thinking they're just the right height for epic games of tag. As for cats? Well, he hasn't met one yet, but he's pretty sure they're just dogs in disguise (with a secret life of napping)!
**Training**
Eager to learn and impress, Axel is ready to soak up all the training you can give him. With his playful spirit and intelligence, he's sure to master all the tricks in no time-just don't be surprised if he decides that "sit means "time to wiggle and look adorable instead!
**Adoption Info**
If you're looking for a playful companion who will fill your home with laughter (and maybe a few toy-related disasters), Axel is your guy! He's ready to join a loving family where he can spread joy, steal hearts, and maybe even help with the grandkids' homework-if the subject is "How to Be Adorable! So, are you ready to invite a little bundle of joy (and mischief) into your life? Axel is waiting to wiggle his way into your heart!

“Luffy” still needs a dedicated foster home! His foster home didn’t work out - his age and energy level is best suited for someone younger and stronger. Luffy is a big sweetheart who was found as a stray in Memphis by All 4s Rescue League two weeks ago. He just needs a bit of training to help him be the best house boy. He is housetrained, working on crate and leash-training. We will schedule an in-home session with our trainer for anyone willing to foster “Luffy”.
Luffy loves to play and gets along with other dogs! He will retrieve a tennis ball and bring it back. We suspect he’ll be a Velcro dog as he just wants to be next to you. He’s a big, goofy older puppy, 80 # and about a year old. He is scheduled for neuter tomorrow! He’s fully vaccinated and on heartworm, flea/tick prevention. Please apply to foster “Luffy” below.

Kylee was rescued in early April 2023 just in time - at just 3 1/2 months of age, she was on the euthanasia list at a local kill shelter in Memphis, TN, unable to stand or walk due to injuries likely sustained from being hit by a car. Under close veterinary supervision, she slowly recovered in her foster home and is now walking, running and playing. While physical, and laser therapy and acupuncture were helpful, Kylee still has sciatic nerve damage that is likely permanent - she is partially incontinent (urinary, but one medication helps some), and she is able to control her bowels most of the time (with daily probiotics). She does wear washable diapers inside to help.
We have noticed she is having a little more control recently including being able to fully lift and wag her tail which is fantastic!
Kylee is a sweet, out-going young dog. She loves to play with her foster doggy siblings, and she is an absolutely joy! Kylee is also child friendly (foster's grandchildren are 3 and 5 years old).
Our grateful, sweet Kylee will need a very special home, and we know it won't be easy to find. But we are committed to her until that family comes along. She's worth it!

Meet Rosie!
She is absolutely the perfect dog for a family! She loves playing with children of all ages, as well as most dogs.
At doggy daycare Rosie typically plays with all the dogs!
She is a cat-friendly girl and is not food aggressive. Rosie sits on command and loves to give lots of kisses. She is completely housebroken and kennel-trained. Rosie is still learning to be a proper young lady on leash, but she is so smart and eager to please, she will get it in no time. Rosie is quiet, fun-loving and rarely barks. She is a medium-sized low-rider and just adores toys, especially tennis balls.
Put in your application today to make this special girl a part of your family!m

Votes have been tallied for our 1st Annual Pet Costume Contest!
In first place we have the famous Snoop
Dogg of MidSouth Animal Rescue League. His rescue and fan base tirelessly advocated for him. We can’t do this boy justice so you have to head over to their page and watch his acceptance speech, I promise it will not disappoint.
In second place, we have Bat-Dog Davy also known as “Davy Baby” who was adopted from New Beginnings Animal Rescue when he was a puppy. His road to fame started by a rescue screening an adopter and placing him into the perfect home for him to thrive.
In third place, we have Catherine, the pretty princess from Team Memphis Rescue and Support. She was saved as a medical case from the critical list at MAS because a foster stepped up. She is a real up and comer so if you want to get in on the contest next year with an established fan base please consider adopting her.
In fourth, we have Rufus, the dog who has lived his life on a chain and is now the King he was always meant to be. He is available for adoption or foster from All 4s Rescue League, he is currently at The Champion Farm.
In fifth, we have Baron who was carelessly dropped off in the middle of the night at Tunica Humane Society. He is a special dog who has thrived at The Champion Farm and is ready to find his forever home.
In sixth we have Titan, this cowboy was so close to losing his life but a foster stepped up in his final moments. He is available for adoption at Team Memphis Rescue and Support. He just started training at The Champion Farms.
He was representing Adopt A Pit.
In seventh, Copper, the little lion has completed training and is available for adoption through ARRF - Animal Relief & Rescue Fellowship. He is in a foster home waiting for his forever home.
In eighth, we have Chayse from Dakota and Casey Rescue. He was found roaming the streets of Memphis and barely escaped MAS with his life. He truly is a gem this little sunflower will make the best addition to a family.
In ninth, we have Marliss one of our first entries into the contest. This bubblebee is loved by her family, Anna’s Pet Care. She was adopted from the Humane Society and if she won she would have benefited the Asheville Humane Society.
In tenth, Houdini, he has gone from being rescued on the streets to a foster home. He is far from being just another black dog, he is said to be brilliant and can be adopted by contacting The Champion Farm directly.
Thank you to all who participated in our contest! Fair warning to get your pets and costumes ready for next year’s event.
Snoop will be featured on our new website at teammemphis.org and all prizes will be distributed.
*Because Catherine and Rufus remained so close on votes the last few days of the contest an anonymous person has donated $100 for Rufus’s rescue All 4’s!*
