Heal the Hood Foundation of Memphis
The Heal The Hood Project is dedicated to every at risk situation and social issue that has challenged the city of Memphis and Surrounding areas.
We recognize the issues that plague our city and we are dedicated to transformation. The Heal The Hood Project was birthed for a song entitled, "Heal The Hood." This anthem would soon get weight to a movie project that would bring together over 200 people to see the heart of God reflected in our broken communities. The power of unity would soon command a blessing/ Breck Howard would work with LaDe
Heal the Hood Foundation of Memphis Legacy Summer Camp 2024
Old School/New is the way to go. Legacy Arts Summer Camp Experience for our children. Parents, we do it together. Thank you for trusting us with your children.
There are moments that God does things that blow your mind. We have families in our program that go through for real, but we have taught are kids to pray and know God. In a city where Hope can disappear in a minute once you turn on the TV, our children need to see what happens when they pray. So our children prayed for this.... Watch what happens when they it!
May the Lord bless Memphis Allies for hearing the children's prayers to Him. We now have a van and a financial gift that helps do the work that Memphis is seeing. Jevonte Cortez Porter thank you for hearing Him. We are extremely grateful. Betina Hunt thank you for being there as my witness as you have been since we signed the contract for the upcoming Hero Empowerment Center that the kids are also praying for. We are a witness to miracles. We got one more to see Him work.
We are still getting major feedback from the . The TigerCubs Allstars is the truth! We have been a fan of Mrs. Lenora Boyd for awhile and we connected right after they got back from their Championship Competition. The story behind them is one I will share one day. I love all our dance crews in Memphis and have something powerful coming that we were trying to launch when Adolfo Shabbadoo Quinones was alive and working with us. Trust me, this is just the beginning! Love you all Memphis!!!
To get a message from my guy Larry Dodson II about how much he has heard about the game in a very positive light meant the world. I have not been able to put to words how this amazing classic game made a huge impact on Memphis. This photo speaks volumes. My new Brother Tony Allen was being honored with the first ever Heroes of Change Award for his outstanding community service to Memphis. We have much more to come. Thank you Jesus for having your hands on us and thank you to an amazing team that worked together and trusted each other on a new venture.
Heal the Hood Foundation of Memphis, you are living up to the name! God Bless you all!

On June 7th with Coach Kevin Whitted (De'Neia Mabry Whitted) and some amazing coaches and staff, we kicked out the for a safe summer! We are just getting warmed up.
Stay tuned for how you can get involved!
When Mayor Paul Young and Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris agreed to play, it was divinity. Mrs. De'Neia Mabry Whitted put it out there and we started calling and emailing. The answer was YES. My interaction with Mayor Young has been moving for over 5 years bringing the plans for the Hero Empowerment Center to his attention and the need for the children of Memphis to have it. Mayor Harris graduated from Overton High School which is my High School as well. The arts saved my life.
Let me say Thank you to the Mayors, Coach Lionel Hollins - NBA, Kevin Whitted (De'Neia Mabry Whitted) Charlie Caswell Mikell Lowry Miska Clay Bibbs Brent Taylor Dr. Marie N. Heal the Hood Foundation of Memphis We impact youth using creative methods of the arts and media science to enact change
If I just told you, you wouldn't believe me. We are on a mission to see that our youth have more clear options of what are good decisions and what are bad ones.
Erika Sugarmon
This young man is one of the most gifted talents in the world. My young people had a chance to be around him and hang tight when he was 15 as he was here in Memphis with us. They are around the same age now. So when I say more talented than most who have record deals, believe me.
The experience that we bring to the table when training youth that want to be in the industry is from a very different perspective. Heal the Hood Foundation of Memphis gives you the cheat code and tells you how you can be successful. Trevor Jackson is a God Made young man because he did it without letting the industry take control of him. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not saying Trevor (nephew as I call him) is perfect, but he has lessons to talk about.
When we travel to your schools and share with youth the ends and outs of this industry, adults please don't tell the kids what you don't know. The industry has people that are there to assist with an agenda. We know them as industry plants. Trevor is not one of those neither is Sammie and many that we really know, but all these artists talking about drugs, shooting and running from person to person in ungodly activities, trust me when I tell you, there is a cost for that. Invite us to your church, school, and organizational gatherings and we will help train your youth and talent, giving them healthy options.
This camp is almost full to capacity! If you have not secured your spot, now is the time!
