As the SP semester draws near,let’s recap the Honors Covocation that occurred last week! So…if you missed it let me tell you black excellence was at an All Time high with Deltas showing up and out in first place and 2nd place attendance by the AKAs. Now moving on to non Greek groups let me say that the Business Students and the BSA members showed up and out…in alphabetical order let’s give a round of applause to the Beta Chapter members in there academic accomplishments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for us to enhance our campus facilities and create a better learning environment for current and future students.

Did you know that LeMoyne-Owen College is the only HBCU to win a NCAA Division III National Championship? In 1975, our men's basketball team won 57-54 in the finals over Glassboro State. This not only gave the college a national champion title, but these accomplishments as well:
- LOC became one of three HBCU’s that has won an NCAA Basketball National Championship any Division
- LOC became the only Men’s Basketball Team in Tennessee to win an NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship (Division 1, 2, or 3).
Uh oh…let’s not forget about that yearly President’s or Dean’s List now! Here is some footage from the SPRING 23 Honors Convocation. Look at the former BSA President,Vice President,Secretary and other students smiling with their awards in hand!
The Business Students Association sponsored a Thanksgiving basket for the Holiday Basket Contest at LOC. The theme for the basket is “ A day of Thanksgiving”. Did you miss it?! Here’s a small recap of what happened!

Who’s who?!
With the business student association beta chapter at LeMoyne-Owen College it’s starts at the top! So, introducing :the coordinating advisor and 2023-2024 council.

Marian Hart, a native Memphian. Holds the title of program coordinator for the Accelerated Studies for Adults and Professionals (ASAP) . Additionally, with being an instructor since 2012 , teaching in both the traditional and non-traditional business programs. Ms.Hart has been apart of LeMoyne-Owen College for 13 years. Ms. Hart’s educational background consist of AAS-Business Commerce (2008, Southwest Tennessee CC); BBA-Management (2010, LeMoyne-Owen College-Valedictorian); MBA-Management (2012, Bethel University).
Interesting fact before endeavoring on her educational journey, she worked for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 25+ years before retiring in 2005.

Ms. Matthews is the current vice president for the 2023-2024 school term. Ms. Matthews is a current 2023 senior. Receiving her degree in Business Administration concentration in Management, with future plans to pursue her masters after graduation.

Opening doors on Walker Avenue in 1914. LeMoyne-Owen College sits in the heart of the historic district being the fifth oldest historically black college in the United States and the only in , Tennessee.
LeMoyne-Owen College is a four-year liberal arts college that provides undergraduate programs through six academic divisions offering majors in 22 areas of study in addition to the Accelerated Studies for Adults and Professionals under the division of Business and Economic Development and etc studies.
LOC is a launching pad for success–no matter where a scholar is on their academic journey.
