🌱 Exciting News for CBU Alumni! 🌱
Have a green thumb or itching to start gardening? Dive into the world of sustainable gardening with the CBU Seed Library! 🌿 Located on the main floor of Plough Library, this unique initiative allows you to access FREE seeds to kickstart your gardening journey.
What's a Seed Library, you ask? It's a treasure trove of seeds collected and shared within our community, fostering biodiversity and promoting self-reliant gardening skills. 🌻 And the best part? It's open to all members of the CBU community – students, faculty, staff, and yes, alumni like you!
Here's how it works:
1️⃣ Visit the CBU Seed Library in Plough Library.
2️⃣ Choose from various seeds, including Arugula, Dill, Watermelon, and more!
3️⃣ Take what you need and start planting. 🌱
4️⃣ After your harvest, consider saving seeds to contribute to the library or donating different seeds to keep the exchange going.
Record your seed checkouts, donations, or pledges to return at the end of the growing season using the CBU Seed Library Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdWs08b3e7PGmN2oTPxXevGBnJ149VtvyEqy2ijat56iWG6dw/viewform?pli=1 >>>
Launched in fall 2023, the CBU Seed Library is a collaborative effort between the CBU Community Garden, the Student Sustainability Coalition, and Plough Library, with seeds generously supplied by Alpha Omega Veterans Services Urban Farm & Garden.
By participating in the Seed Library, you're not just growing plants – you're promoting biodiversity, sharing healthy food options, and reducing reliance on major seed companies. Together, let's cultivate a greener, more sustainable future! 🌍💚 Learn more at https://libguides.cbu.edu/blog/cbu-seed-library >>>

CBU’s subscription to RefWorks will end on June 30, 2024.
If you have references in RefWorks that you wish to save, you will need to transfer your sources out of RefWorks by June 30, 2024. It is easy to export collections into any other citation manager. Free citation managers include Zotero and Mendeley. Zotero is the citation manager that Plough Library will use going forward.
Using Zotero: Plough Library’s Citing Sources guide (link on our homepage at cbu.edu/library) has a page with more details on how to use Zotero.
If you have questions about transferring sources out of RefWorks into another citation manager, please contact Kay Cunningham, Library Director, at [email protected].
Happy Valentine’s Day from Plough Library! What we love most about the library is YOU: every single CBU student, faculty/staff member, and alumnus who uses the library. Come by and see us! ❤️💌🥰
Have you used our group study rooms yet? We have two, and each comes equipped with a floor-to-ceiling whiteboard wall and a wall-mounted computer and large monitor. CBU students can reserve a room for academic use if you have 4 or more people, for a maximum of 2 hours a day. (If not reserved, they are for general student academic use, and we ask you to share the space with other students who wish to study.)
The library hopes to have an interactive online reservation system up and running by fall 2024. For now, reservation requests may be made at the Library Service Desk, by chat (available through the library homepage), by phone at (901) 321-3432, or by email at [email protected].
It’s National Library Lovers Month, so our whiteboard question of the month is “What do you love about the library?” We invite you to stop by and share your thoughts on the whiteboard (or here in the comments). In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we also have a display of popular romance books from our collection. Check one out if you want a good book to read. 💕♥️💜💗💖💞💛💚💓💘🧡😻💌💝🫀📚📕📗📘📙
