Cordell was a truly remarkable individual whose leadership, compassion, and dedication touched the lives of so many. Your messages of support have been a great source of comfort to all of us during this difficult time. We are grateful for the heartfelt memories you’ve shared, which remind us of the profound impact he had on our community.

While we mourn the loss of a great leader and friend, we are committed to carrying forward Cordell’s legacy of service and compassion. Your support during this time not only honors his memory, but also strengthens our resolve to continue the work he dedicated his life to.

Thank you once again for your kindness and support. It means more to us than words can express.

There is nothing stronger than a mothers love. Tamara is that mother and she created a positive way to honor her son and bring awareness to to honor Brian.

It is with a heavy heart that we share that Mr. Cordell Walker has peacefully transitioned after a hard fought battle with cancer. Mr. Walker dedicated his life to serving more than 15,000 military veterans in his more than 35 years of faithful service at Alpha Omega Veterans Services. He will be truly missed. His dedication and contributions will live on through the many lives of everyone he has touched.

The Women & Men of Brown of UPS Memphis do so much for the community, including the veterans Alpha Omega. They are at it again, helping with school supplies for students at Manassas High School this Saturday.

On a Friday in June, Alpha Omega was blessed by the musical talent of Earl Randle, as part of an ongoing free concert series brought to us by the local organization Creative Aging Mr. Randle has had a significant role in songwriting in Memphis and the South, having written songs for the likes of Al Green, Etta James, and Koko Taylor.

As we celebrate our freedom, we must remember our past.

PTSD is an anxiety disorder that involves the over‐activation of the fight and flight response.

Some signs & symptoms of PTSD include: anger, anxiety, grief, feeling lonely or abandoned, sleep disturbances, feeling out of control, or physical signs of tension such as racing heart beat or muscle tension. People with PTSD may feel disconnected from their spiritual connection, lose their sense or meaning and purpose for living and ask “Why” they experience such suffering.

Delaware Valley veterans returning to Normandy, France to commemorate 80th D-Day anniversary Nonprofit Forever Young Veterans is sending four Delaware Valley veterans, including 102-year-old Andrew Kiniry, to Normandy, France to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Let us all express our deepest gratitude & respect for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to secure the freedoms we cherish today.

We hope you can come out and support Alpha Omega's veterans by attending this Sunday's game against the DC Defenders. We are super excited for our veterans to be honored by the Memphis Showboats at the game on Sunday. 🤍Alpha Omega Veterans Services (AOVS) provides disabled, displaced & veterans experiencing homelessness with supportive housing and all services needed to totally reintegrate back into society; with a success rate of 90%. AOVS was the first organization of its kind in Memphis and for over 37 years has served nearly 15,000 with housing, information & referrals, meals, food, clothing & homeless outreach.

💙 Alpha Omega was established in 1987 by a mother of two sons who, after serving in Vietnam War, returned home suffering from what we now know as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Our veterans enjoyed a wonderful lunch and a memorable day at the Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy. They had the opportunity to engage with the horses, participate in therapeutic activities, and learn new skills. The experience provided a relaxing and enriching environment, fostering both personal growth and a sense of camaraderie among the participants.
