✅ If you are unable to file your taxes by the April 15 deadline, you have the option to apply for a tax extension. This extension is mainly for those who are missing tax documents. However, it's important to note that a tax extension does not postpone the deadline for paying what you owe to the IRS. Any taxes owed are still due today, though payment plans are available.

✅To avoid late filing penalties, which can amount to 5% of your unpaid taxes per month (up to 25%), you must request a tax extension by 11:59 pm today. You can do this by filing Form 4868.
