Dave John ladies and Gentlemen!
Dave, a Trinidad-born prodigy, first wielded drumsticks at the tender age of 10, effortlessly blending an eclectic array of musical genres. His inaugural performance, still at that youthful age, foreshadowed a remarkable journey.
From 10 to 18, Dave was entirely self-taught. At 18, he embarked on formal studies at the esteemed Brooklyn Muse in New York, under the tutelage of the legendary "Walter Perkins," whose illustrious roster of students includes the likes of Omar Hakim, celebrated for his work with Weather Report, Sting, and Madonna.
A scholarship beckoned Dave to Berklee College of Music, leading him to Boston, where he received private instruction from Tommy Campbell. As a member of the faculties and a drummer for luminaries such as Sonny Rollins, Dizzy Gillespie, and Stanley Jordan, Campbell's influence is beyond measure.
Dave's unique style, characterized as "layered, percussive, and deeply groove-centric," sets him apart. His performance and recording credits span a vast spectrum of artists hailing from New York, Boston, and Boise.
Sharing the stage with an array of world-class musicians, including Grammy winners and nominees, has been a defining aspect of Dave's journey, solidifying his status as a true luminary in the realm of music. Dave John
Meet Tyler!
Tyler's musical journey kicked off in style - at just six, he was already strumming his dad's guitar. By seven, he'd added a bass guitar to his repertoire, setting the stage for a lifelong love affair with music.
Bestowed with the title of a "lifetime bass player," Tyler's musical prowess knows no bounds. He's the ultimate genre-hopper, seamlessly grooving through different styles with a swagger that's all his own.
A minor setback in the form of a hand injury couldn't slow this maestro down. With the wisdom of bass legends Gary Willis and Todd Johnson, Tyler not only made a comeback, but he did it with style, refining his playing technique and storming back into the professional scene.
Tyler's not just a musician - he's the pulse, connecting rhythm and melody in perfect harmony. In any musical ensemble, his basslines are the heartbeat that drives the groove. It's not just a role for him; it's a musical mission that keeps the rhythm alive and kicking. Currently his is the sonic link between rhythm and melodic instruments in The Orale Band and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Meet Gator!
Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, Glen "Gator" Lynskey hails from a musical lineage. His father was a professional guitar and pedal steel player, known for touring alongside legends like Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Paycheck, and George Jones.
Glen earned accolades, including the 1st place award for Best Electric Guitarist in the northwest, and a notable 3rd place in a national Jimi Hendrix contest. As a teacher, he mentored up to 80 guitar students weekly, sharing his wealth of knowledge and skills.
A graduate of the Musician Institute, Glen showcased his expertise by lending his guitar prowess to numerous commercials, films, and television projects. With over 30 years of experience as a recording engineer and an impressive 40+ years of live performance, he stands as a seasoned and accomplished musician.
Meet Gregorio De Anda!
After a three-year hiatus from music and an early retirement to travel in an RV, Gregorio is back in the groove. He's played in countless bands over the years and has a deep appreciation for Motown, Funk, Salsa, Rock, as well as a passion for Jazz drumming, congas, and harmonica playing. Gregorio is an old-fashioned sideman who understands the importance of tasteful embellishments to allow the song to breathe. Additionally, he's an avid collector of vintage snare drums. In his opinion, one must grasp the entirety of percussion to truly excel and be attuned to his bandmates in order to create magic. Lastly, he believes it's crucial to bring the energy from the get-go rather than waiting for it, as the audience is his top priority. Gregory De Anda
Meet Josh Banda!
After a nearly 10 year break from playing, Josh picked up the sax again and started performing locally in 2021 after meeting Band Leader, Koki, at Capital Church in Meridian. His soulful combination of jazz and funk create an explosion of high energy, melodic grooves that will make you fall in love with the saxophone all over again. While his sound and style comes from a variety of influences, he is on a continuous journey to improve his craft and carve out his own unique style.
Josh has performed consistently with Smooth Avenue and the Muddy Rain Blues Band and is now a full time artist with Orale as he helps to develop their unique fusion of latin, funk and R&B in the Treasure Valley.
Meet the band!
When not championing the lost art of the keytar, Sal “Salsa Fingers” Cirrito is the keyboard maestro for the Orale! Band. Combining a rigorous classical piano education with an unnatural obsession for 80s synth-pop, Sal claims to have discovered the “fifth beat” in music, and is known for his fiery solos and an uncanny ability to make any tune sound like a mariachi version of a Depeche Mode track. A self-professed taco connoisseur, he insists his keyboard skills are directly proportional to his hot sauce intake, making him the only musician in the world whose performance can be derailed by a jalapeño shortage. Follow along to get a chance to hear him play at one of our upcoming shows!
