What’s the deal with these beetles?
🔹 Huge and Harmless: These beetles can grow up to 3.5 inches long! They look a bit scary, but don’t worry—they’re completely harmless to humans.
🔹 Night Flyers: If you see them flying around your porch light at night, it’s because they’re on the lookout for a mate. They’re clumsy flyers, so you might even hear them bumping into things!
🔹 Underground Life: Most of their life is spent underground as larvae, munching on the roots of your trees, especially our beloved Palo Verde trees. They only come out for a few weeks in the summer to find a mate.
