Taquiza is looking for experienced prep cooks!

Do you multitask, work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors and remain calm under pressure? If so, we need someone like you to help with preparing food items according to recipe cards in a way that is consistent with the company's expected quality and standards. Job also includes labeling of food containers, food storage organization, monitoring of stock and supplies, and set up of stations for service.

This position is specifically working with the cooking/soaking and grinding of the corn to make masa/tortillas.

The job starts at 4AM or 5AM 4 to 5 days a week.

You must be able to lift 50+ pounds at any given time, as the corn weighs 50 lbs. per bag.

Requirements:
- Minimum one year culinary or related work experience with intermediate culinary knowledge expected in order to effectively fill the position.
- Ability to operate, maintain and clean all kitchen equipment.
- Must have proficient knife skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $12.00 to $14.00 /hour

If so, we need someone like you to help with assisting servers and food runners with the shifts requirements according to procedures in a way that is consistent with the company's expected quality and standards.

Minimum one year of related work experience with intermediate restaurant knowledge expected in order to effectively fill the position.

Essential Function:
Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
Clear tables after guests.
Take soiled tableware to dishroom and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes,
glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area.
Between seating promptly clean tabletops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.
Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed.
Perform side work at the start, during, and end of each shift as required by service
station assignment.
Bag and haul trash to dumpster at designated times.
Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.
Communicate with bartender to assure efficient service
Assist bartender as needed with food + drink delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
Thank guests as they are leaving
Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
Understands shift ends once approved by MOD.
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the
restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

Requirements:
- Understand and communicate in English.
- Must have permission to work in the United States.
- Minimum of one year of culinary or work experience related to the expected intermediate culinary knowledge to be able to fill the position effectively.
-Ability to operate, maintain and clean all kitchen equipment. Cleanliness and organization are the most important.
