Camillus House has provided humanitarian services/programs changing lives of the homeless since 1960

Established by the Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd in 1960, Camillus House has grown steadily over the years from a small overnight shelter into a full service center offering a full “continuum of care” for persons who are poor and homeless. Every service offered at Camillus is carried out with the deeply held belief that every human being is precious in the eyes of the Lord and deserves love

10/30/2024

This year, Camillus House has provided over 70,000 essential services through our Day Center, offering hot meals, showers, clean clothes, and more to the Miami-Dade homeless community. The Day Center is often the first step in helping individuals transition into housing, employment, and long-term support programs, creating opportunities for profound change.

When you this , your gift provides more than just shelter and meals. It sparks a movement of generosity that helps people rebuild their lives, regain stability, and spread hope throughout the community. Together, we can create a lasting ripple effect of positive change. 🎁

What does it look like to ? For Camillus House client Kendrick Moore, it meant a second chance — a safe, stable home and the opportunity to rebuild his life.

Kendrick, a veteran, faced homelessness and isolation after an injury ended his service with the Marines, a family he thought he’d belong to for life. With support from Camillus House, he found secure housing, accessed essential medical care, and joined our workforce development programs. After completing the Kitchen Cook Employment Training, Kendrick now helps others in the same program while pursuing his passion for culinary arts. His story exemplifies the ripple effect of generosity—how one gift to Camillus House can transform a life, empowering individuals to give back and inspire hope in their community.

This , your gift plants the seed of hope. Together, we’ll nurture it into a future full of possibilities for those facing homelessness.

Life is full of uncertainties, but with a comprehensive estate plan, you can secure your family's future and provide peace of mind. An estate plan ensures your loved ones are cared for according to your wishes, helps navigate potential challenges they may face, and offers valuable tax advantages for your heirs. Most importantly, it reduces the risk of family disputes and misunderstandings during a time of grief, allowing them to focus on healing instead of navigating complex decisions.

This seminar will cover essential topics such as creating a will, understanding probate, and the benefits of leaving a charitable legacy. Guests will receive complimentary lunch and parking, plus free consultations with estate planning professionals.

RSVP by October 20 to secure your spot by emailing [email protected]! For more details, visit camilluslegacy.org and zoomiami.org/planned-giving. Take control of your legacy and protect what matters most.

Our Story

Rooted in the compassionate Hospitality of St. John of God, we improve the quality of life of those who are vulnerable and homeless in South Florida through the provision of a continuum of housing and supportive services.

Since 1960, every service offered at Camillus is carried out with the deeply held belief that every human being is precious in the eyes of the Lord and deserves love, respect, and a chance to live a dignified life. Camillus does much more than offer a free meal, medical care, a shower, or drug treatment. It offers a second chance to the desperate, the lonely, and the ones society has left behind. Many of the clients who come to Camillus House have nowhere else to go. They have no friends, no family, and no loved ones to help them through their times of trouble. Camillus House becomes their family, giving them the hope and support they need to begin the long, difficult transition to a new life and self-sufficiency.
