A non-profit organization working to provide learning opportunities to every child in the world. All had positive results.

The idea of one computer per child dates back nearly 40 years, to the Constructionist learning theories pioneered by Seymour Papert, an MIT mathematician, computer scientist, educator, and protégé of Jean Piaget, the father of cognitive development theory. Nos sentimos muy honrados, hacemos historia al haber firmado el primer convenio entre la Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones de Honduras (CONATEL) y One Laptop per Child, para juntos abrir el mundo de las y los estudiantes a través de la conectividad al internet.

The dream that more than 5,500 children from Roatán Island in Honduras have access to their own computer and all teachers receive teacher training, is now a reality 🏝️🧑🏽‍💻👩🏻‍💻

On Friday, December 9, we officially launched the project that will make Roatán not only a tourist paradise, but also an educational paradise, together with our allies Alcaldía de Roatán, One Laptop per Child, UNICEF Honduras and the Rotary Club of Roatán.
