🌊⛵️ Ahoy, sailors! 🌊⛵️

📸 Dive into the adventures of our Spring Sailing Camp! From the first exhilarating moments on the Optimist sailboats to mastering the art of tagging and even practicing some controlled capsizes – these young sailors were absolutely unstoppable! 💪

Our dedicated instructors were right there every step of the way, offering hands-on guidance and sharing their passion for sailing. 🤝 It was incredible to watch the kids embrace the challenges with enthusiasm and determination.

🏝 Sailing all the way to Dinner Key Picnic Island was a highlight! Not only did they get to experience the thrill of open water, but they also had the chance to soak up some hands-on instruction right on the shore. 🌴 And of course, there was plenty of laughter and splashing as they cooled off and bonded with one another.

By the end of the day, these young sailors didn't just feel like they were sailing – they truly felt like seasoned sailors, ready to take on the open sea! ⛵️😄

Learn-To-Sail

Learn to sail at CGSC! Adult and youth classes offered year-round. No experience necessary. We are affiliated with the US Sailing Association, the most respected and accepted certification in sailing.

YOUTH SAILING- Children, between the ages of 6 – 15, learn basic sailing skills, knots, nomenclature, and safety. By the end of the course, beginning sailors will be able to single-hand an opti, know the points of sail, sailing terminology, & basic seamanship. Our beginners are then trained to join one of our Racing Teams.

ADULT SAILING - Our two most basic and popular programs are (1) for the small, colorful, wet, sporty Sunfish and (2) for the heavier, stable, ballasted keelboats (Ensigns), which is our most popular boat for couples or people who want to sail together on the same boat. One sailing class is not a prerequisite for the other, and many new sailors enjoy taking both courses. Classes are available at all levels, no experience necessary!
