💛 Receptive Language: body parts, following directions, identifying..
💛 Expressive Language: requesting, labeling, describing, pronouns, plurals, prepositions..

The possibilities are endless 💫
Feeding your kids doesn’t have to be a neat process. Actually the messier it ends up being the more sensory experiences you are exposing your child to and allowing independence on eating. Let your babies touch their foods even if they are already using utensils. Let them make a mess as they figure out hot to get the spoon to their mouth. Pat yourself on the back if you are having to sweep the floor after every feeding. Give them a spoon while you spoon feed if they aren’t feeding themselves independently yet. Keep exposing your child to varied foods even if they don’t like it the first time. May take several attempts of exposure to accept a new food. Have fun and enjoy the process!
Hurry up and sign up for our Summer Camp lead by certified Therapists and Teachers at SpeakMoveGrow. Our camp is for all kids! Social emotional skills are critical in our little ones and these skills last a lifetime. Labeling emotions helps them understand the emotion but also allows them to realize you understand them which decreases tantrums and outbursts. It’s important to allow the child to “feel” the emotion, label it and get through it. Once calm, we can help problem solve and come up with solutions. We use our “feeling buddies” in our enrichment program and therapy to help compliment the many skills that take place in social emotional learning.
