Employment-Based Immigration Doubles from 1st October 2024
The new government fiscal year which starts on October 1, 2023 will be the best year ever for employment-based immigration.

Generally, 140,000 persons annually are able to get green cards through employment-based immigration. However, in the coming fiscal year, the number will more than double to over 290,000.

Because of the pandemic, U.S. Embassies abroad have been mostly closed, and this has prevented well over 150,000 relatives of U.S. citizens and green card holders from getting green card interviews. Our immigration laws provide that if the family-based quota of 226,000 is not reached, the unused numbers are transferred to the employment-based categories during the next fiscal year.

Back in September 2015, the wait for an RN born in the Philippines to get a green card in the U.S. was more than 10 years. In October 2020 to April 2023, EB-3 Philippines were "current" meaning no waiting time at all at that period (but again retrogressed now to Feb 2022). This news was especially good for registered nurses since health care employers in the U.S. can sponsor RNs for green cards without the necessity of advertising the job and going through the months-long PERM process. Other Filipino professionals will also benefit from the EB-3 category becoming current including (but not limited to): Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Laboratory Technologists, IT Professionals, Engineers, Architects, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Many More Occupations!!! But in May 2023 Visa Bulletin EB-2 & EB-3 for Philippines and other world countries have been again retrogressed.

US lawmakers recently introduced a bill for amendment of Immigration Act to lift the current seven percent country-cap for the issue of green cards. On becoming a law, the proposed bill will considerably reduce the waiting time of talented professionals who are eyeing permanent residency in the United States. Indians will benefit the most from US legislation to lift country-specific caps on green cards. This will help Indians to get into United States with lesser waiting time which is currently eleven to twelve years waiting period for Indians.

Persons born in a particular country cannot use more than 7% of the quota in each of the 5 employment-based (EB) categories. This has led to long backlogs in the EB categories for persons born in India, mainland China and the Philippines. But Current Country wide 7% quota of green cards may be removed if and when amendment Bill introduced in President Biden's Immigration Act 2021 is approved.

There will be an increase from 140,000 in the total number of available green cards in the Employment-based categories to 170,000 annually. Moreover, there would be an increase of EB-3 green cards by 30,000 in the unskilled worker category. There would be exemptions from numerical limits for Ph.D. degree holders from universities in the United States in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM fields).

Nurses in the USA enjoy a high degree of responsibility and are protected at work from mistreatment from co-workers, doctors, and patients. In short, they are given the respect they deserve. Further, they are given a fair caseload of patients and are paid a higher wage if they work extra hours. If this sounds like the type of nursing environment that suits you then America awaits.

H-1B visa alternative ‘OPT’ grew 700 percent in eight years:
Almost 1.5 million foreign students have been allowed to stay and work in the U.S. after graduation as part of a work permit program that is now larger than the controversial H-1B program for highly skilled foreign workers, according to a new report.
The number of students authorized to work under the “optional practical training” program has grown 700 percent since the federal government in 2008 increased the amount of time graduates with tech, science and math degrees could remain in the United States and work, according to a new Pew Research analysis of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement data obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The OPT program, which grew out of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, essentially extends F-1 education visas for foreign college and university students so they can work during or after school. The program’s base-level permit lasts for 12 months, but a STEM extension allows participants to spend an additional two years working in the U.S., that means they can work for three years on OPT program.

Immigration Opportunities for International Medical Graduates (IMG's) who want to live & work in USA

New Law Allows International Medical Graduates to Bypass US Residency…What a great news for IMGs…

Such training for international medical graduates (IMGs) is a routine part of obtaining a US medical license, but a new Tennessee law bypasses these requirements and creates a quicker pathway for IMGs to secure medical licenses in the US.

The American Medical Association (AMA) took similar measures at its recent annual meeting, making it easier for IMGs to gain licensure. Because the pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine disrupted the process by which some IMGs had their licenses verified, the AMA is now encouraging state licensing boards and other credentialing institutions to accept certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates as verification, rather than requiring documents directly from international medical schools.

USA is currently facing shortage of over 400,000 Family Physicians/General Practitioners & Consultants in Cardiology & Psychiatry...

Physicians Immigration Opportunities:
Our Company offers unique Physicians Immigration Opportunities for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and Physicians seeking temporary work visas, J waivers, H-1B visas and permanent resident status (green card status) in the United States, provide residency training, license exams preparations & also provide paid jobs in medically under-served areas in USA during their US license process.

Hospitals, medical groups, and other healthcare facilities are seeking more medical specialists and fewer primary care physicians, according to an annual report tracking physician starting salaries and other physician recruiting trends.

Prepared by The Physician Search Division of Allied Healthcare, the nation’s leading physician search firm and a company of Allied Healthcare Group, the 2019 Review of Physician and Advanced Practitioner Recruiting Incentives tracks a sample of 3,131 physician and advanced practitioner recruiting engagements that the firm conducted from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2021. Now in its 29th year, the report indicates that The Physician Search Division of Allied Healthcare is conducting a growing number of search engagements for medical specialists while conducting fewer searches for primary care physicians relative to recent years. “While demand remains strong for primary care physicians, specialists are increasingly needed to care for an older and sicker population,” said Cláudia Oliveira, Executive Vice President of The Physician Search Division of Allied Healthcare. “In some medical specialties, shortages are emerging that will pose a serious challenge to public health.”

The report indicates that 78% of The Physician Search Division of Allied Healthcare’ recruiting engagements in the last year were for medical specialists, up from 67% four years ago. By contrast, the number of searches the firm conducted for primary care physicians (family doctors, internists, and pediatricians) declined by 8% year-over-year and by 38% compared to four years ago. In its latest review of physician supply and demand, the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) projects a shortage of up to 67,000 specialists by 2032.

The report reveals that The Physician Search Division of Allied Healthcare’ search engagements are growing in a number of medical specialties where severe shortages are anticipated. For example, a study published in Arthritis Care & Research projects that by 2030 demand for rheumatologists will exceed supply by 100%. The number of infectious disease training programs now fill fewer than half their classes, according to Singleton, while deaths due to drug-resistant pathogens are predicted to rise rapidly, resulting in a looming shortage of infectious disease specialists. There are approximately 7,300 certified geriatricians in the United States today, and the American Geriatrics Society projects 30,000 will be needed by 2030.

The Physician Search Division of Allied Healthcare’ report also shows that for the fourth year in a row, psychiatry was the firm’s second most requested search, highlighting a critical shortage of psychiatrists nationwide. “The shortage of medical specialists flies under the radar, but it is a serious public health concern that deserves more attention,” Singleton said.

Value-Based Payments Rise
The Physician Search Division of Allied Healthcare’ report suggests that the use of value-based physician payments is gaining momentum. Of those The Physician Search Division of Allied Healthcare clients offering physicians a production bonus last year, 56% were based in whole, or in part, on value-based metrics such as patient satisfaction and outcome measures, up from 43% the previous year and 39% two years ago.
