Recently, SMASH had the honor of doing a member exchange with fellow Homes for All - South comrades at in Jackson, MI. This was part of an initiative funded by the National Black Food and Justice Alliance

Cooperation Jackson is an inspirational Community Land Trust with over 40 properties on scattered sites throughout Jackson, MI. Some is used for housing, some is used for training centers, and many are used to conduct one of the most robust urban farming operations in America. We learned a lot during our trip, and also helped them do maintenance on their solar panels!

We’ll be taking many of these best practices and put them to good use for our SMASH CLT in Miami!

SMASH volunteers and just came back from the disaster area in CFL where they brought much needed food, supplies and equipment to families in need after Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Thank you both for your hard work!! And big thanks to , and for supporting these efforts with much needed rapid response funding!

Volunteer opportunities are still available in Miami, especially with who is loading more trucks with food deliveries tomorrow beginning at 8:30am!
