PARDON OUR DUST, SAND CASTLE RENOVATION UPDATE, FLOORING. We have been waiting for this, the stripping of the 100-year-old oak floors has begun. The four second floor bedrooms will be done by the end of the day, as they work to finish the trim. Judge for yourself, these floors are solid and will look sensational once the stain is applied. RFC Services, our flooring contractor will stay on site until the 1st and 2nd floors are completely stripped. Then, contractor Palpable Paint will return to 2 coat both levels, having already painted the ceilings. A very exciting and expensive time for CCH and our shelter for homeless families and children. If you have it in your heart to contribute, please visit our webpage at www.cch-mc.org or mail your checks to CCH, PO Box 8612, Michigan City, IN 46361.

Our Story
The Keys to Hope Community Resource Center is a 3,100 square foot stand alone facility located on Franklin Street in midtown Michigan City, Indiana. Keys to Hope is a daytime resource center open seven days a week featuring the program titled the "ABC's to Self-Sufficiency" (Appearance, Behavior and Change through Case Management). Keys features a five (5) unit computer lab, three shower rooms, laundry room, internet/phone access and other amenities. The KTH program was built and continues to grow under the concept of coordinated access (a/k/a collective impact) with primary direct services provided by KTH/CCH and collaborative services offered in-house and by referral centered around intensive case management system designed to help the homeless and disenfranchised break the cycle of homelessness and return to self sufficiency. Case management initially addresses housing (collaborations with Housing Opportunities (Coordinated Entry, Housing First and Rapid Rehousing), Michigan City Housing Authority (Low-Income programs, Section 8 and Permanent Supportive Housing), the PADS programs (emergency overnight housing) and PATH (short term temporary housing). Ongoing support includes life skill classes, health insurance enrollment specialists, health initiatives, a staff MSW, PATH program coordinator and other programs offered in-house through partnerships with Franciscan Hospital, Goodwill Industries, Swanson Center (PATH), Vocational Rehabilitation, HealthLinc Clinic, Healthy Communities among other partnerships. The Street Outreach program is designed to find individuals living on the street who are unaware of KTH and community services and to provide information (and misc. supplies, water, food, weather gear, etc.) regarding same. If necessary offer, provide or arrange assistance to get them off the street. A secondary service/goal is awareness building with those who typically have contact with this disenfranchised population (trustees, church staff, police and fire departments, etc.).
