Congressman Ryan also toured our Port Jervis Head Start. Reading to students, making some art and playing on our playground.
We shared our growing concern of multiple issues facing those we serve including lack of affordable, safe housing, increase in food insecurity, limited, affordable childcare and behavioral health challenges.
We also discussed a potential $750 million cut to Head Start and low wages for Head Start staff.
We thank Congressman Ryan for a great morning and hearing our concerns!
