The Southeast Regional Center is proud to support the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 33rd Anniversary. On July 26th we celebrate this important civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

Disability Pride Month!
As we celebrate Independence Day and the beginning of Disability Pride Month, Disability Rights Wisconsin encourages you to recognize the term “independence” in the context of individuals with disabilities. Just as all Americans enjoy freedom, our neighbors and family members with disabilities deserve to learn, work, and live according to their own interests, talents, and desires.
And that means it takes extra support or accommodations to achieve their level of independence.
Disability Rights Wisconsin works to make sure that the rights of people with disabilities are protected. Your support is needed to build our systemic and public policy work so we can challenge systemic barriers that make independence for people with disabilities a struggle to attain. Each positive change and each legal win through our litigation program affects thousands of Wisconsinites.
If you find the systemic barriers that challenge the independence of people with disabilities unacceptable, support Disability Rights Wisconsin today!
