📢 Attention, everyone! The key differences between Social Security Disability (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Disability (SSIDI) programs are below!

✅ Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI): If you worked and paid Social Security taxes and meet the work credit requirements, you may be eligible for SSDI benefits. The amount you receive is based on your average lifetime earnings. SSDI benefits are not based on need and are determined by your work history.

✅ Supplemental Security Income (SSIDI): SSIDI is a needs-based program that provides financial assistance to disabled individuals with limited income and resources. Eligibility is determined by factors such as income, assets, and disability status. SSI benefits are meant to help cover basic necessities like food, clothing, and shelter.

💰 Benefit Amounts: The benefit amount you receive through SSDI is based on your work history and earnings. On the other hand, SSI benefits are set at a federal minimum level, but they may vary depending on your income and resources.

📝 Application Process: Applying for Social Security Disability or SSI benefits can be complex, but don't let that discourage you. It's recommended to gather all necessary medical records and documentation to support your claim. You can start the application process online or by visiting your local SSA office.

👂Here are some questions I hear all the time.👂

I am disabled and I am not sure where to start.

Do I talk to my doctors? 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

When should I file for Social Security? 📂

What if I do not qualify?

I’ve worked my whole life, I never filed for Social Security disability. Do not know where to start…

Most people I help with filing for Social Security benefits have a lot of unanswered questions.❓❓❓

A lot of their questions lead them not to file for benefits and in some cases give up and not seek the medical attention they need.

Every person is different and every situation is going to be different.

I have experience working for Social Security and representing people applying for Social Security benefits.

🤔Have you been denied Social Security disability benefits?🤔

Feeling like Social Security and the entire system is against you?

Don’t give up! 💪

It’s easy to be frustrated by the amount of questions and paperwork thrown at you.😞

Also confusing when you try to understand everything that Social Security is telling you.

You go back to your doctor👨‍⚕️ and ask them to help you, but they tell you that they’re doing everything they can.

Now you feel like Social Security and the entire system is against you.

Don’t give up and ask for help.

Not sure why you might need a Social Security Disability Representative?

Here are three good reasons as to why you may need a Social Security Disability Representative. 👇👇👇

🤔What will happen to my Social Security disability benefit amount when I hit my full retirement age?🤔
Short answer: Nothing!

Long answer: You will receive a letter from the Social Security Administration explaining that your disability benefits will convert to retirement benefits and your benefit amount will stay the same.

11/30/2020

❓What is your full Social Security retirement age? 65, 66, 67, or 68?❓
Most people think 65 because the original Social Security Act set that as the normal retirement age.

Due to improvements in modern medicine Congress increased our full Social Security retirement age:

If you are 60 or younger in 2020, your full Social Security retirement age is set at 67!

If you are older than 60 in 2020, your full retirement age fluctuates from 66 to 66 and 10 months!

All this is assuming that Congress does not make any more changes to our full Social Security retirement age.

Never let your fears hold you back from trying something new.

08/05/2020

💪How to overcome fears of doing something new💪

I remember shadowing a Social Security Administration Law Judge during my SSA training years ago.

While shadowing the judge, I was able to see how cases were handled by lawyers and thought that I could do the same thing.

A couple of years ago, my family members asked if I could help them with their SSA application and we ultimately went in front of an ALJ judge.

I remember being scared and nervous as this was my first time in court representing anyone.

I must have watched over 20-40+ hours on how lawyers presented their cases in court.

Days before the hearing, I had tons of anxiety that led to a couple of panic attacks and sleepless nights.

What helped me overcome all of that was my love for helping others.

I knew this was something I could do. I've seen it first hand. I've done the work.

During the hearing, I gave it my best effort.

I wasn't sure what the result would be after I finished.

After a couple of months the judge sent his decision… We won!

I remember feeling unstoppable, confident and excited for the client.

All the hours of training, prepping ended up being enough.

This experience allowed me to realize I could pursue becoming an SSA Representative as a career and build a business.

Most importantly, it allowed me to realize that I could do anything if I put my mind to it.

Don't let your fears hold you back.

When you have anxiety about starting something new, it’s your mind preparing you for what’s next.

Not sure 🤔 if you should apply for Social Security Disability benefits?
-
Here are three different conditions that may make you eligible:

1) If your disability stops you from working. You may be eligible.

2) If your disability limits your earnings to less than $1260 a month. You may be eligible.

3) If your disability is a terminal illness or condition. You may be eligible.

**For terminal illnesses and severe disabilities your application may be expedited.

Before I created MX Disability Consulting Services...

I worked for the Social Security Administration for 7 years.

I left my career to chase my entrepreneurial dreams.

This allowed me to figure out eCommerce and other businesses I tried were not as easy as pressing a button.

I started helping friends and family apply for State programs and benefits.

The more I helped I discovered I just love helping people.

After the mandatory post-employment federal two-year ban, I started representing friends and family members for free.

When I won my first case, I was filled with joy knowing that this loved one was going to be financially secured for the rest of their life!

More and more people asked for help and I continued to win cases.

I realized that this was something I was good at and I could use this gift to make an impact on their lives.

Today, I am proud to say that I am certified by SSA and I own my own Non-Attorney SSA representation firm.

The road to your calling may not always be smooth, but you can't give up on finding your purpose.

Sometimes, it's right in front of you.
