If you haven’t taken Tara’s class yet, you’re in for a treat and don’t want to miss this opportunity. “I am from Pewaukee, Wisconsin but currently live in Redondo Beach, in Southern California. I have been a competitive swimmer since age 10, including a Division I college athlete. At age 28, a slipped and herniated disc and torn labrum in my shoulder led me to Bikram Yoga. My first class was intense, but being a competitive athlete I followed along and completed every posture. Not initially hooked, I practiced occasionally for a year while living in San Francisco. Finally burned out from being a lawyer and doing legal sales, I quit my job and attended Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in Fall 2012. I am committed to helping students find their potential- both in and out of the hot room. I believe that every student has the potential to achieve their highest form - whether it’s physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. I gave up substances over 15 years ago with the help of this yoga by realizing I had a greater gift to offer the world. I have survived many challenges throughout my life and I believe that with yoga, anything is possible. Breath work, meditation and discipline, in and out of the hot room, have helped me stay sane in unimaginable situations. I practice 5+ days a week, now mostly for the spiritual benefits derived from being on my mat for 90 minutes. I encourage students to share their strengths and weaknesses, fears and dreams, as I am always willing to listen. Namaste.”

Hi! I’m Tess! I’m 26 soon to be 27, and I have been practicing yoga since I was 13. I started with vinyasa (which I love so so much and still practice and teach) and I started consistently practicing the Bikram series in 2022. (The beginning was brutal I’ll be honest.) I’ve been teaching the series since April of 2023, and I try to encourage going beyond the asanas, or postures, and getting into the meditation that this series sets you up for. I have a love/hate relationship with my own practice of the Bikram series because it takes a lot of self discipline - which I need, but does not come super natural to me as I consider myself to be more Type B. I do however have practices some days where I leave feeling so in harmony with the world around me. That’s why I keep coming back. Outside of yoga I love art, plants, cooking, thrifting, sewing, and traveling! If you’re working on a new craft, or going on a trip, I want to know!! I can’t wait to be part of this community ❤️

Originally from Illinois, Annie found Bikram yoga in 2009 while studying dance in college. She immediately fell in love with the discipline and accessibility of the practice, as well as the intensity of the environment. She attended Bikram Choudhury’s training in fall of 2012 and since then has taught in and around Chicago, Hawaii, and Colorado.
Annie currently enjoys physical activity of all kinds, and she loves learning and advising about how this practice supports students in their favorite activities. Within the last year, Annie began exploring and teaching vinyasa yoga and Pilates. She aims to bring a comprehensive and compassionate knowledge to teaching of 26 & 2, and she is thrilled to be a part of the MKE yoga community!
