Our 4th and 5th grade classes go out for weekly rides with their teachers, use bikes instead of buses for field trips when possible, and ride year-round with an after-school group. They develop a strong connection with their neighborhood and build confidence, persistence, and grit. Their safety green shirts and hoodies bring smiles and waves from neighbors and fellow cyclists along the way.

Minneapolis Parks and Rec Board is proposing 5 ice rink closures and Windom Park NE is one of the parks on the chopping block. Please consider going to their meeting on Wednesday or sending an email to share your perspective, and spread the word with neighbors! Commissioners' email addresses in the comments.
Minneapolis Park Board budget proposal includes elimination of 5 outdoor ice rinks Outdoor ice skating in Minneapolis was a blink-and-you-miss-it affair this past winter, and climate uncertainty is now causing the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board to reconsider the scope of its rink program.
In case you didn’t already spot it, take a look at the nice new Windom Park sign the Park & Rec paint team added to the park building, complimenting the amazing mural from CYFI, which was wrapped up this time last year…wow, already one year!!
Also, CYFI’s art also received an anti-graffiti coating at the end of summer, allowing any tags to get cleaned off much easier and keeping the art safe for years to come.
Thanks Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board!!
