Some great advice from Family Tree Clinic if you receive Medical Assistance!
If you receive Medical Assistance, make sure you're on top of your renewal. MA has started kicking people off who haven't renewed their coverage. Medical Assistance enrollees must have eligibility reviewed once a year.
According to Minnesota Department of Human Services here are the steps to prepare to renew coverage: 1. Update your address and phone number 2. Know your renewal month 3. Get free help with a navigator to prepare and learn about coverage options 4. Check for your renewal paperwork by mail to give you next steps.
Go to https://mn.gov/dhs/changes-to-services-phe-ending/ for more detailed information.

Meet Jody! At-large board member nominee for Stevens Square Community Organization!
“My name is Jody Podulke. I’ve lived in Stevens Square since February of 2020 and having grown up in rural North Dakota I really love how warm, welcoming and close knit this neighborhood is. I’m active with the SSCO Safety team and enjoy helping with the many events the SSCO puts on like Cinema and Civics and the Festivals. It’s been a great way to get out and meet my neighbors. I am interested in running for the board again and would like to help implement more activities for children during the summer such as story times and art events.” -Jody

Meet Glenn Everette! At-large board member nominee for Stevens Square Community Organization!
“Stevens' Square is unique and our surroundings are constantly changing. It's exciting to live in a thriving, walkable, and bike-friendly community with plenty of amenities. I would like to see our community continue to thrive and cultivate our "Pride of Place" by continuing and expanding our "Civics and Cinema" series. As its current facilitator, I've enjoyed sharing my passions for film and civic engagement with our neighbors. I'm retired. I used to do a lot of things, but I mostly worked in the high-tech data and internet industry.” -Glenn

**REPOST** Original Post: Springboard for the Arts
Thank you to Katie Cashman - Minneapolis Ward 7 and Jamal Osman - Minneapolis Ward 6 for their support Robert Skafte's memory and our community gardens.
There's still time for you to also write in to the Minneapolis Park & Rec Board in support of this resolution. Email [email protected] by noon today and ask the planning committee to move the resolution to the full board on Feb. 7.
Take quick action today to support a Robert Skafte memorial garden. Last week, Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Commissioner Elizabeth Shaffer submitted a resolution asking MPRB staff to pursue a limited use permit with MnDOT, owners of the Overlook Garden land. This would give MPRB something similar to a "permanent lease" and the ability to name the garden and put in infrastructure (e.g. sign, bench, etc.) This would allow an officially dedicated to Robert who developed this native pollinator garden alongside MPRB and countless neighborhood volunteers.
Read the full resolution here: https://bit.ly/3O7s9UF
Please support this resolution in one or more ways:
1️⃣Submit a written comment by noon, Wed. Jan. 17 by emailing [email protected].
2️⃣Speak in person at tomorrow's MPRB Planning Committee to voice your support. The board meets at *5 p.m.* at MPRB Headquarters at 2117 West River Road N. The planning committee is slated to start at 5:40 p.m. Call 612-230-6400 by 3 p.m. to be put on the speakers list. The planning committee's approval is needed to send the resolution to the full board.
3️⃣Repeat the steps above before the Wed. Feb. 7 MPRB full board meeting where they will do the final vote to approve the resolution.
Thank you and please spread the word!
