The Reality of Waste Management: Let's Talk HERC 🔥
Ever wondered about the real impact of waste disposal methods like the Hennepin Energy Recovery Center (HERC)? The emissions from incineration pose health risks to both employees and nearby communities, contributing to a range of health issues from respiratory illnesses to heart problems.
By understanding the origins and impacts of HERC, we can pave the way for sustainable solutions that prioritize both the environment and public health.
Ready to dive deeper into the history and impacts of HERC? Learn how we can create a Zero Waste Future ➡️ https://www.mnejtable.org/shut-down-herc
We're adapting to better serve you! Starting March 2024, our Clothing Closet will now be open on only the 1st and 3rd weeks of each month. Mark your calendars: March 4-6 and March 18-20, from 12:30 to 3pm, Mondays to Wednesdays.
Bancroft Neighborhood Association (BNA) and Luke Stultz parted ways this past fall. Luke served as Executive Director of BNA for 10 years and has seen the organization through many changes and programs. His organization of the summertime ice cream socials brought together neighbors from across Bancroft for sweet treats, kids activities, and all-around fun. His work also included managing the community gardens and facilitating youth snow shoveling programs. These are just a few examples of the many contributions Luke made to our community during his time with BNA. We extend our gratitude for the leadership he provided, and wish him the best.
Looking forward, BNA is beginning a process of revisioning, not just our leadership, but also how we show up in community and partnership with others in meaningful ways. Our first priority for the year is setting a strong foundation for our future--something we cannot do without our neighbors. We'll share more in the coming weeks and months!
