are wired to solve problems no matter how big or small. Recent Electrical Engineering grad Olivia Janousek didn't want to have to drive a long distance to play a favorite video game. Janousek decided to build a version of a dance pad game as a senior capstone.
Design Camp participants are tapping into their creative side by developing a concept for a pop-up, a creative temporary event hosted for a few hours or days before being taken down. Campers have to research a location, and then will sketch, design, and build a model of their space to display at the end of the week.

We love , and were more than happy to share our space this week with the first-of-its-kind Indigenous Design Camp! Teens from around the Twin Cities spent the week in the School of Design, building architectural models and exploring area firms, showcasing careers in and design — areas where Indigenous populations are under-represented.

Thank you to the NECA Student Chapters who participated in the 2024 Electrical Contracting Innovation Challenge (ECIC). This year's competition featured extensive training opportunities and challenging components for the student teams.
After reviewing twelve impressive proposals, the judges have selected the following three teams to advance to the final stage of the competition at the NECA Convention in San Diego, CA:

Some exciting news to share for our students. Thanks to a generous gift from the Walser Automotive Group ( ), one of our long-standing industry partners, we have added the first electric vehicle to our fleet — a Chevy Bolt! Students will study available scan tool data relating to the EV functions as well as be trained on component Identification, operation, EV safety testing, battery charging system testing, and teaching proper shutdown procedures. Also keep your eyes peeled. You might just see it out and about around the Cities in the near future.
Classes begin next month, but there is still time to apply. It's time to do what's next.
