What makes you, you?
Psychologists like to talk about our traits, or defined characteristics that make us who we are. But Brian Little is more interested in moments when we transcend those traits -- sometimes because our culture demands it of us, and sometimes because we demand it of ourselves.
Join Little as he dissects the surprising differences between introverts and extroverts and explains why your personality may be more malleable than you think.

Nietzsche on how to find yourself
Any human being who does not wish to be part of the masses need only stop making things easy for himself. Let him follow his conscience, which calls out to him: “Be yourself! All that you are now doing, thinking, desiring, all that is not you...”

We all know that when we make decisions in groups, they don't always go right -- and sometimes they go very wrong. How can groups make good decisions? With his colleague Dan Ariely, neuroscientist Mariano Sigman has been inquiring into how we interact to reach decisions by performing experiments with live crowds around the world. In this fun, fact-filled explainer, he shares some intriguing results -- as well as some implications for how it might impact our political system. In a time when people seem to be more polarized than ever, Sigman says, better understanding how groups interact and reach conclusions might spark interesting new ways to construct a healthier democracy.

www.MNToP.us – your destiny!
“An effective facilitator knows that diversity of opinion and conflict are useful in working toward consensus. When multiple stakeholders come together in a dialogue, describe their own points of view, and listen to others do the same, they often become better able to articulate their interests, rather than remaining locked into their initial positions.
Ultimately, they may find mutually beneficial solutions that meet all of their interests. But the process of moving toward these kinds of breakthroughs is not always harmonious. Differences in viewpoint inevitably come out into the open, arguments may erupt, people may get upset. A facilitator must recognize these conflicts as simply part of the process.”
