Perhaps if angry little girls were heard
instead of silenced,
there wouldn’t be so many hurting women
struggling to understand and love themselves.

Perhaps if tearful little boys were comforted
instead of shamed,
there wouldn’t be so many angry men
struggling to express and empathize with emotion.

And vice versa.

Perhaps if children’s emotions were understood
instead of punished, there wouldn’t be
so many armored people
struggling to be connected and authentic.

Children need to feel all their emotions,
without fear of rejection
to mature into their healthiest true selves.

Being hard on children
does not make them stronger.
People are strengthened through
compassion and understanding,
regardless of gender or age.

🩷Let's give our kids the most grace during back to school days 🩷

Back to school can elicit a lot of emotions…my son is very excited, while my daughter is struggling with some fears and worries.

I encourage us all - educators, families, and students, to dig deeper, beyond the surface. This takes connection and relationship.

Still reflecting,
Amanda P.

Being a part of the Missoula Pride parade was such an amazing feeling. The love, support and caring from the community was not only felt from the agencies like ours who support the LGBTQ+ community but from the community itself. The vibe was felt by all, as you can tell by my little guys dancing. The rain stopped long enough for us to march across the bridge. It was an honor to represent The Parenting Place with my family and want to thank The League of Women Voters for allowing me to walk with them.
