Last week we had our first summer camp! Lego camp was a blast and we had soooo much fun. The kids used their imagination, problem solving skills, and critical thinking skills. I still have room in my August Nature Camp (Aug 5th -8th.) If you’d like to register your kiddo for Nature Camp please contact me soon.

Spring time in preschool is so much fun! We watched our seeds germinate and grow. We learned about wild weather like hurricanes and built houses out of play-doh and popsicle sticks to see if they can withstand the hurricane winds. We studied the life cycle of bees and butterflies and have spend A LOT of time outside. I can’t believe we are wrapping up another school year!

A sneak peek of all the fun we’ve had in February. We’ve studied outer space, conducted experiments, spent a lot of time outside, explored the fun world of abstract art and color blending, and so much more! I’m sitting down formulating my summer camp program and I cannot narrow it down to three themes (three camps.) So I need your help in deciding. What themes and camps have your kids enjoyed in the past?

We are halfway through the school year which means I am starting Fall enrollment! If you are looking for a half-day preschool for your son or daughter please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. My classes are Mon, Wed, Fri, and go from 9-Noon. We spend the day learning our letters, numbers, singing, making crafts, playing outside, and problem solving. The cost of preschool is $175/month. We are almost half way through the school year and I have been terrible about posting pictures of all the fun we’ve had. The days and weeks are flying by. We’ve had lots of guest speakers including, Missoula Rural Fire Department, Josh Smith - Nurse Practioner, and Dr Brandon Sturgell DMD from Hellgate Family Dental. A big thanks to each of the guest speakers! The kids love having visitors and asking all kinds of questions.

Our 2023/2024 school year is off to a fantastic start! We are having so much fun learning, playing, and making new friends. I am so thankful I get to play while I work. These kids are awesome!

We had so much fun in our Art Camp! We recreated art by Piet Mondrian, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, and Wassily Kandinsky. We spent a lot of time talking about primary colors and how just those 3 colors can make all the other colors in the world. We even mixed our own colors to see what new color we can create. During the week we also used cups, balls, and q-tips instead of paint brushes to create beautiful mater pieces. These kids had a blast!

I am waiting to solidify my summer schedule, but expect three amazing summer camps at O’Brien Creek Preschool. These are geared toward ages 3 to 5. We will be inspired by art, explore outer space, and become paleontologists for a week. Get ready for some summer fun! Each camp will be Monday through Thursday and will cost $55. Stay tuned for information on dates of each camp.

It’s that time again! Time to register for preschool! I offer two classes. A MWF class and a Tue/Thur class. Both are half day classes from 9:00 to 12:00. This is a very busy and very fun bunch of kids. We get so caught up in our activities I forget to take pictures. I will have to be better about getting pictures of our fun and adventures this spring. Some highlights from the last few months include a unit I created called, ”Around the World.” For the month of January we traveled to amazing places all over the world. We saw the Great Wall of China, the Egyptian Pyramids, the African Savanna, Yellowstone, Niagara Falls, and so many other great places. In February we also had the pleasure of meeting authors Brandon and JoyAnne Smith. They were kind enough to visit our class and read their book, ”Happy as a Hippo.” It’s an amazing book! Stay tuned for more fun this spring, and I’ll announce my summer camp schedule as soon as I solidify dates.

Long over due post. I apologize for slacking on social media. We have been having the best time! It’s crazy to think we are almost 1/2 through the school year! I am so fortunate to spend my mornings with this crew!

I can’t believe we are more than half way through October. We are having so much fun. These kids are so enthusiastic about learning and they genuinely love playing with each other. They are a busy, but fun bunch. They are the reason I love this job! And thank you to Sam Leyba from the Missoula Police Department for visiting our preschool during Community Helper week. I‘m sure I gave my neighbors something to talk about when they saw the police lights in my driveway. Lol

Thank you Missoula Rural Fire Department for coming to the preschool and showing off your cool fire engine and talking to the kids about fire safety. They loved the presentation and continued to play fire fighters the rest of the week.
