We were founded in 1947 by Junior League of Mobile as an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children with cerebral palsy. Now we're known as UCP of Mobile and we serve adults and children with a variety of disabilities (not just cerebral palsy) as an agency of United Way of Southwest Alabama.

We are searching for an Inclusion Consultant for the Childcare Enhancement with a Purpose program at our Mobile location. This position helps promote the concept of developmentally-appropriate practices for early childhood education by visiting childcare facilities and instructing them on such practices. BS in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field from an accredited education institution and at least three to five years’ experience in Early Childhood Education management.

United Cerebral Palsy (UCP National) is hosting its 3rd annual Conference on Latinos with Disabilities, a national, virtual event. While many of the topics addressed during this conference are of interest to the wide disability community, this event aims to highlight the distinct ways that Latinos with disabilities, their families and service providers shape our communities.

Disability Pride Month is celebrated in July to commemorate the passing of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in July 1990.

Did you know that disability affects nearly 1 in 4 (26%) adults in the United States? People with disabilities are the largest and most diverse minority group within the population, representing all abilities, ages, races, ethnicities, religions and socio-economic backgrounds.
