We were founded in 1947 by Junior League of Mobile as an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children with cerebral palsy. Now we're known as UCP of Mobile and we serve adults and children with a variety of disabilities (not just cerebral palsy) as an agency of United Way of Southwest Alabama.

This position helps promote the concept of developmentally-appropriate practices for early childhood education by visiting childcare facilities and instructing them on such practices. BS in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field from an accredited education institution and at least three to five yearsโ experience in Early Childhood Education management.

United Cerebral Palsy (UCP National) is hosting its 3rd annual Conference on Latinos with Disabilities, a national, virtual event. While many of the topics addressed during this conference are of interest to the wide disability community, this event aims to highlight the distinct ways that Latinos with disabilities, their families and service providers shape our communities.
The three-day virtual conference happens September 3-5 and registration is free!

4. Listen and Learn: Listen to the experiences and needs of people with disabilities without making assumptions.
5. Support Inclusive Policies: Advocate for policies that promote accessibility and equality in your community and workplace.
6. Challenge Stereotypes: Speak up against stereotypes and stigma. Representation matters!
7. Be Patient: Show patience and understanding in interactions. Everyone communicates and moves at their own pace.
8. Include, Donโt Exclude: Invite people with disabilities to social events, work projects, and community activities.
9. Promote Employment: Support businesses and initiatives that hire and support people with disabilities.
10. Volunteer or Donate: Get involved with local organizations that support the disability community.
