We often assist families with little resources who find it challenging to share in the joy of the holiday season. We are looking for organizations, individuals and families who are interested in “adopting” a family in need during the holiday season. Community Hospice & Health Services Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program pairs generous supporters with families in need of Holiday cheer and support.

What a fun day at our offices today. We had a Halloween party complete with mice, Wayne’s World, Hocus Pocus witches, black magic witches and a wizard, Ms. Frizzle, Coraline, an alien abduction, Renaissance ladies and an insect or two. We also had a pumpkin carving contest with a Super Mario Bros. pumpkin that plays the video game created by our IT department. Happy Halloween!

Our Alexander Cohen Hospice House staff were treated to sweet fall treats yesterday, created by volunteer baker Anna Marie Taylor. We are so grateful for volunteers like Anna Marie and all they do to support our mission.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Tomorrow evening you can join in on a globally recognized event Wave of Light, by lighting a candle at 7 P.M., leaving it burning for one hour to remember all babies that have died too soon. It is vital to acknowledge the often, devastating stress that a miscarriage or the loss of a newborn baby can place on a parent and their family.
