Our Community Relations Director, Doménica Escatel and our President, Alana Scott Clayton were invited by Soroptimist International of Modesto Inc to speak to the incredible students at Elliott Alternative Education Center.

Domenica shared her powerful story and helped the students ignite their dreams.

Alana shared her story, the power of mentorship, and how to get connected to a quality mentor through helping the students uncover their own personal hero’s journey

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve and appreciate Soroptimist and Elliott for inviting us to speak.

We are so excited to announce that last night several of our Stanislaus County Office of Education employees graduated from our Living WELL program!

These women pour out their hearts to serve the most vulnerable children and families in our community. We were able to help fill their cups up by investing in their success through our 5 week Living WELL program teaching Financial Literacy, Leadership Skills, Emotional, and Physical WELLness.

Our Living WELL Facilitators, Duaan Fincher, Joanne Ramos, Carol Dali, and Monica Beaudette lead their first SCOE Living WELL. They dedicated over two years of study, preparation, research, dedication, and sharing their own personal stories to ensure that they gave their best to these ladies! To say they crusted it would be an understatement! The feedback of how dramatically they have transformed the lives of the women they served over these five weeks is remarkable!

Our Living WELL, Education Director, Sarah Moore dedicated 8 years to developing, curating, facilitating, and improving our Living WELL curriculum, two of those years has been spent training our facilitators for this moment!

When our Living WELL Curriculum Curators, Sarah Moore, Doménica Escatel, Carolyn Gilton, Heather Pratt Raybourn, and Alana Scott Clayton first embarked on development our Living WELL Curriculum, they envisioned it would changed the lives of the women who have the opportunity to learn from it—-but they never in their wildest dreams could have envisioned the magnitude of the impact it would have thanks to our incredible Living WELL Facilitators who have taken this dream to an entirely new level.

We had an incredible time filming a little behind the scenes of our Living WELL program magic with a few of our Living WELL graduates from classes in 2019 and classes in 2020.

We are looking forward to bringing back our Living WELL in person program. We have had the honor of facilitating our Living WELL program online to the and other organizations over the past two years.

Our Living WELL program is a 5-week small group cohort style class teaching financial literacy, wellness education and leadership skills. Once our Living WELL participants graduate, they receive ongoing mentorship to help them accomplish the goals they set for themselves as part of their Living WELL program.

We are grateful for the many women who have been able to break the chains of poverty and homelessness for themselves and their children through applying what they learned in their Living WELL program.

We are excited and grateful to share that our President and Co-Founder, has been recognized by as a Finalist for the Catalyst Award.

As an Invest In Others Catalyst Finalist, WELL will receive a donation from Invest In Others of $25,000.00.

The Invest In Others Award Ceremony will be held in Boston on September 29th. Alana is on of three finalists that has an opportunity to receive an additional $25,0000.00 donation to their charity.

This affords us the opportunity to work towards our dream project of providing our Living WELL program to the California wide and breaking the chains of poverty for the homeless women they serve and their children.

We have a long way to go to reach this goal, but Invest In Others has brought us so much closer to our dream through this generous recognition.

We are excited to announce that the Women’s Education & Leadership League (WELL) has been selected as one of three finalists for the Catalysts Award for the 16th annual Invest in Others National Award.

As finalists, WELL will receive $25,000.00 to fund a project we have been working towards. We now have an opportunity to win the Catalyst Award in Boston on September 29th and receive an additional $25,000.00 to help further fund our project.

We have been working hard towards a project of our dreams to providing our 5-week Living WELL program and on-going mentorship program to the women in the Downtown Streets Team in all 17 locations California wide, serving 457 homeless. Of the 457 homeless team members Downtown Streets team serves, 181 are women.

WELL has had the privilege of serving our local Downtown Streets Team through our 5-week Living WELL program and mentorship.

WELL’s 5-week Living WELL program provides life-changing financial literacy, wellness education and leadership skills designed to break the chains of generational poverty for our Living WELL graduates and their children. WELL provides ongoing mentorship to our LivingWELL graduates to help them achieve their Living WELL goals, whether it’s to maintain a place to live, get a job, or grow their financial wellbeing to ensure that they and their children can climb out of financial hardship and into the life they deserve.

Downtown Streets Team provides immediate resources to our homeless community and assigns a personal case manager to their team members. They help their team members with everything from finding housing, to job training, to helping them break additions and so much more.

WELL has been training some incredible women to prepare them to facilitate our Living WELL program. We have also developed an online Living WELL program thanks to our amazing angel donor, Sharon Dowdell and the mentorship and encouragement from Tony Jordan. We have created the strategic plan and have been meeting with Downtown Streets Team leadership to bring this collaboration dream to life.

The gift from Invest in Others brings us so much closer to our dream of serving these women. We have set up a fundraiser to help us bridge the gap between the generous gift from Invest In Others and our dream of serving the women of the Downtown Streets Team. We have created a GivingWELL campaign between now and our award night on September 29th.

We would like to invite you to become a GivingWELL Catalyst partner and sponsore a woman on our Living WELL waitlist with the Downtown Streets Team by providing her the opportunity to receive life changing financial literacy, leadership skills and mentorship. With your help we can break the grips of generational poverty for herself and her children.
