“My name is Marbi and I am a person in long term recovery. January 16, 2016 I surrendered to a power greater than myself.
I was beaten into submission by my disease. I hated myself and everything that I had become as a result of my addiction. I had lost my children, I was unemployable, I had no car, no drivers license, no place to live. I was a liar and a thief because addiction is a beast and it robs you of who you truly are.
God stepped in on that January day for me in the form the of gift of desperation and saved my life. Today I am a trusted and dependable mother, daughter, sister, employee, friend and advocate for recovery.
I have the privilege of working in the substance use treatment field today for Bradford Health Services at Warrior. I never could have dreamed that my darkest days in life would lead me to my purpose on this earth; helping others like me find their own stories of recovery. Today I get to live a life beyond my wildest dreams.”
Marbi your passion for recovery is such an inspiration. You have a way of helping others find belief in themselves! Thank you.
