So, what is Apex?

That is the number one question that I have gotten since I have opened the doors of Apex Infusion & Wellness. Apex has a couple of meanings. One meaning pertaining to the heart's apex is located at the bottom tip of the heart. This is the point where there is a maximal impulse against the chest that can be felt. Another meaning of apex that I identify with most is the highest point or most successful part of something. Would you believe me if I told you that this has been my favorite word since the day I heard it during a lecture covering the cardiovascular system while in nursing school?

I have kept that word tucked in my pocket for over a decade now. I periodically use this word to fuel my career ambitions and goals. It was my belief that I needed to be at my apex with my studies, critical thinking and skill set in order to be a good ER nurse. I definitely believed that I had to be at an apex level with my PICC/ Vascular access placement, care and maintenance skills. I eventually began to use this concept as an approach to my patients because they also had to reach their apex, no matter how big or small. Everyone has an APEX. This was the catalyst behind Apex Infusion & Wellness LLC.

I wholeheartedly believe that everyone has an apex that they can ascend to, some may require a little more persistence than others. Since our grand opening last October, I have been very fortunate and blessed to have witnessed a large number of our rapidly expanding community reach what they consider to be their apex. For that alone, I am grateful.
