The food goes by fast as the need is huge in the city.

Hidden Bags this Sunday

01/27/2024

We are looking for 7 small desks for The Building Up Lives Foundation Office.

We will be helping other nonprofits be housed

01/22/2024

Our Sunday meeting went well, we will be having two more at our office 23185 Hemlock Ave suite A, Moreno Valley ca 92557
4pm on Sunday 1/28
and Feb 4.

Public of all ages are welcomed

Lots to talk about for helping the people of this city.
1. our next much loved Hidden Bags.. of course with a twist.
2. Youth involvement and focus this year is on GIVING
3. we have a plan to help the community, city, code and those in need all at once. Results will be less homeless trash on the streets, and helping build up those with no home.
4. Animal Triage for the lost and injured pets on 4th
of July
5. Partnership with other nonprofits.. which we have, now another level. A system to make the partnership work.
One nonprofit feeds. the homeless and didnt know to carry a first aid kit and soon learned they needed one. We were able to help them build one. They feed but do not house.. together they now can refer to our team to get those in need more resources and hopefully off the streets.
6. We are partnering to help with better communication to those in need.. many have no means to communicate, that needs to change. This includes the elderly
7. Next meeting we will be talking about holiday events for our community
8. More free food and clothing out this year. We would like to see one free hot meal to those on the streets. But the county has to okay whoever is making the meals.
9. a better volunteer system, right now 9 volunteers who hold the fort.
10. much more to come💜

01/09/2024

so we did our food booth inside Our Place restaurant. It has been there about a year maybe a little longer than a year as a pilot program.. it has proven to be very, very successful. Anyone can sit inside the restaurant and see 3 to 5 people on average daily come in for food from that booth. That is 1095-1825 families a year.
The community also participates by bringing in non-perishables. The food booth has become not only successful, but well known and vital to many In Need Of Food.♥️

I am moving forward to making the food booth not a “pilot program” but an actual program.
I’d like to find 10 if not more areas to put MORE food booths in, and MORE local “businesses” donating to this cause.

I do ask the community if anyone has used Our Place restaurant food booth if you would text me what you thought of it, and how it helped you, my number is 951-550-5466 Building Up Lives Foundation

A little information about our Hemlock store.

We originally had one storage two storage, then three storages across the street of the Hemlock property.. same landlord, great guy.

They offered us the hemlock store in a way to save money; instead of the three storage units. We got an extra 200 square feet at the time for the same price. So, we moved 1, 2,3 units into that store as storage space. The agreement was no public access because it’s only storage. We leased it as only storage knowing this.

We still had the Sunnymead location and we were thriving minus the harassment and the sale of illegal drugs that the property manager was encouraging. In time It became unsafe and the harassment was impacting everything.. Then w gave notice, packed up and moved out.
Getting another storage!

After a break we worked on getting the Hemlock store cleaned out as to use as a possible store. a new lease was made to allow the public, this happened aug 2023. BUT, we can ONLY open on Sundays or after 6pm when the dentist is closed. 6 PM is very hard because the main Volunteers get up at five to do the things that need to be done for the nonprofit so by 6 o’clock they’re exhausted .

It took us a year of moving things to finally get open on Sundays.
We had our fundraisers and giveaways on Sundays.. this was our ONLY income to pay our bills at the time. Very few individuals, corporations or businesses think of Moreno Valley and donate very few of the items or money goes to Riverside and that’s a fact that we battle. This is why nonprofits don’t thrive here.

We take ZERO salaries. We are all volunteers… which makes things even harder. For us not being able to hire permanent employees is extremely hard. And for those that work 70 hours a week with us and don’t get a paycheck. It’s a struggle for them.

We we received funding from our city in Nov; which will be able to pay the majority of our rent and storage for the year. This is a blessing to us because we no longer have to Fundraise for the “basic survival” of our nonprofit.

The Volunteers that have been dedicated, and spent hours of their own time, their money, their health in order to help this nonprofit and this community now has a much easier road. We can focus on issues of importance to be able to get answers and solutions and not just split our time between fundraising surviving struggling.

we are to sitting down with a few folks in January to go over what building of lives foundation will be doing in 2024.
one thing we do know is our fundraisers will be fun for those that run them, work them , are a part of them, and attend them, it will not be straight labor and hardship because we’re struggling. so we think the city for that .

we are excited to sit down with three individuals.
-One has to deal with Veterns -2 has to deal with YOUTH
-3 has to deal with su***de prevention.
All three of these individuals want answers and solutions to our cities problems and the problem with unhoused and homeless

If you are interested or your company is interested in being a part of these meetings to plan what building up lives foundation can do for a community please text us or send us an email or text is 951-550-5466

We have 15 turkeys ( hopefully more will come in) to give out and plenty of can goods.
We will be calling the first 15 on our list that need food for Thanksgiving.

Please folks the need is huge in our City.. most businesses and residents who Donate items don’t donate to Moreno Valley. Making the need here HUGE. This is WHY Building Up Lives Foundation fights hard to stay open and no one gets a paycheck.
The underserved in Moreno Valley gets very little support in Moreno Valley. We are trying to change that ♥️💜💙

If you have received a turkey someplace else please allow someone who hasn’t to receive one.

You must check in and leave your identification card while taking part in the Fundraising events.
The event gets large and crowds grow fast, theft/ craziness happens whenever its big, so ID will now be asked if you want to take part. You cannot attend if you have no identification.
Little children will not be allowed at the Fundraiser. There are events that are for the children on Wednesdays and upcoming Fridays TBA

Fundraisers are where the community can take part, have fun and leave blessed with great items while blessing the nonprofit.

Bare with me folks as we are doing multiple things. Remember to TEXT or EMAIL us if you want to be included on a list.

Now, Turkeys and Christmas is a bit of a struggle even for the nonprofits this year.
But, we are moving forward and continuing🦃🎄🎅🏼 our lists.

Toy Donation boxes are being put into businesses in Moreno Valley.
It is
1. first text/ email, first served.
2. you will need to provide ID and birth certificates for Christmas this year

By this weekend I will have the start of Adopt A Family for Christmas list
and
a Thanksgiving Meal for a Family list.

If you want on the Christmas list i need the following:
(note this is for those who can not afford a Christmas)
1. ages of your children
2. boy or girl
3. needs or wish list

If you want to ADOPT a family, wait for the list and choose your family.
We ask that each child get a gift, and the parents a meal or some type of food.

Yes, both turkey and Christmas you can deliver the gifts to them directly.
Or we can.
However note we do have Domestic Violence survivors and sexual abused victims that you can not meet with.

Building Up Lives Foundation team literally goes out Christmas day with the remaining gifts and we bless many in our community

We are FOCUSED on keeping donations from Moreno Valley in Moreno Valley. I as Founder of Building Up Lives Foundation believe that we can be self sufficient in serving our own community. That our underserved can get served and grow!
Our small business can become big!
Our homeless homeowners!
