Join MVC for the upcoming Summer Math Institute from June 21 - 29. This six-week course series seeks to improve student success in completing college-level math in their first year. Participants receive financial aid, tutoring, and more. Apply: rccd.edu/summer-institute.

Starting Fall 2022, the district will no longer be offering MAT 35-Intermediate Algebra. STEM students who placed into MAT 35 but have not taken the course will now have to take MAT 9, BSTEM College Algebra or MAT 9/109. Math 109 is a support course for MAT 9. After students complete MAT 9 or MAT 9/109 they can take MAT 36, skip MAT 10 and go straight into MAT 1A.

Students who have completed MAT 36 will still need to take MAT 10 and then MAT 1A. Please speak with a STEM counselor if you have any questions about your math placement.
