Drexel Elementary School

Our Drexel archers were able to compete with the "Best of the Best" NASP Teams from all of the United States in Daytona Beach, Florida!! The DES team competed in the 2024 NASP Championship in "Bullseye" as well as 2024 Championship in '3D / IBO". The team had a stellar performance in both events. The Drexel team established their best team score at the 2024 Bullseye Championship. We are extremely proud of their outstanding growth, hard work and dedication to the 2023/24 archery season.

DES Kindergarteners had so much fun at Letterland Tweetise!

Our 1st graders had a blast at RO Huffman while the big kids took their EOGs. Thank you RO Huffman! 💙

Great job to our Running Club students that completed a 1 mile race! We have had so much fun this spring running & enjoying the sunshine together. Way to go Wolverines! 💙

Today former Drexel Elementary students came back for their high school graduation walk. Several former staff members came to see their students on this special day. Our current students and staff were so excited to celebrate the graduates and their accomplishments!

The First Grade Fairytale Ball was magical! What a memorable Drexel tradition! 💙

We had a special moment today! Freedom Graduate, PFC Rodriguez-Martinez, returned home today from Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri & surprised her brother at DES! 🇺🇸

It is an honor and privilege to share with you that the DES Archery Team recently competed in the National Archery in Schools Program National Tournaments in Louisville, KY. The team competed in the 2024 NASP Eastern Nationals - Bullseye Tour. as well as the 2024 NASP Eastern National IBO 3D Challenge. Due to the nationally ranked DES Archery Team's stellar performances in these tournaments, their outstanding team scores have qualified them to move forward to compete in the upcoming 2024 NASP Championship - Bullseye and the 2024 NASP Championship IBO 3D Challenge in Daytona Beach, Florida, June 2024. We are proud of the DES Archery Team for their accomplishments!

Drexel students got to experience a performance by the bluegrass band Special Consensus today! 🪕🎶

Drexel staff were treated to lattes from Living Beans Coffee and cookies from Catawba Valley Baptist Church yesterday. We are so thankful for our teachers and our community partners!

DES Running Club has been enjoying exercising in the beautiful spring weather! We are getting ready for our fun run race at the end of May! ☀️

Tomorrow night is our PTO Spring Fling! Please join us from 5-7 p.m. for inflatables, games, silent auction, face painting, and food. Admission is $5 per person which includes hot dog plate, with a $20 maximum per family. Cash only, we cannot accept checks or cards. We hope to see you there!!

Today is School Lunch Hero Day and we are so thankful for our wonderful cafeteria staff here at Drexel. A big thank you for all that you do to help feed our students and staff each day!

Thank you to Grow With Drexel, Master Gardeners of Burke County, & Blue Ridge Greenhouse for volunteering and supporting our Earth Day project! Our students loved planting flowers to beautify our school! Thank you also Cub Scout Pack 225 for picking up litter and painting our spirit rock! 💙🌷
