A 2020 Cornell University report that analyzed more than 1,100
peer-reviewed studies found that neonicotinoid corn and soybean seed treatments pose substantial risks to bees and other pollinators but provide no overall net income benefits to farms. DFW similarly recognizes that neonicotinoid use contributes to declining pollinator populations.

In honor of a long standing Queen: A common mnemonic used by beekeepers when marking queens is, "Will you raise goods bees". Marking a queen with a small spot of paint on her back (thorax) is a useful way to keep track of her age and longevity. A color code exists within the beekeeping industry to indicate the year the queen was introduced. Colors rotate in the 6th year. The Queen of England seemed to do the same. :-)
