The low FODMAP diet is often recommended for those with IBS, as its goal is to limit the short-chain carbs that are not easily digested and absorbed into the small intestine. If you’re suffering from IBS symptoms and you’re highly interested in the low FODMAP diet, please consult with your doctor 🩺 to figure out the right approach for you. 👍

An ulcerative colitis flare led to dad, 34, receiving colon cancer diagnosis: EXCLUSIVE 04/15/2024

Now more than ever, it's important to get screened for colorectal cancer at 45, and even earlier if you've been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease, like ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.

After nearly 10 years of controlling his ulcerative colitis, a flare-up in 2019 prompted Michael Sheridan to reach out to his gastroenterologist. His appointment revealed that he had stage 3 colon cancer.

After doctors performed a sigmoidectomy to remove part of his colon, they found 51 lymph nodes positive for cancer. With a temporary ostomy and seven rounds of chemotherapy, Michael was cancer-free.

Read more about Michael's story here!

An ulcerative colitis flare led to dad, 34, receiving colon cancer diagnosis: EXCLUSIVE Even after getting the flare under control, Michael Sheridan's bowel movements didn't seem right. It was early onset colon cancer.
