⚠️ Storm Response Update:
- The Public Works Department worked through the night to clear trees and branches from all Mount Prospect major roadways. Currently, crews are clearing side streets and parkways.
- ComEd is reporting about 1,300 customers without power in Mount Prospect. See the graphic below for ways to report outages. To check the status of your outage, visit ComEd.com/Map
- As a reminder, the Mount Prospect Fire Department urges everyone to keep their distance from downed power lines.
🌳 How to Report Downed Trees/Branches:
1. First identify if the tree or branch is on your private property or in the public parkway.
2. If the tree is on public property or blocking public streets or sidewalks, call Public Works at 847-870-5640 (after hours call 847-870-5656). You can also report through the Village's mpDelivers app (Powered by SeeClickFix). Details on the app can be found at www.mountprospect.org/crm
3. When reporting, please include as much detail as possible, starting with if the tree/branch is on public or private property.
4. If the tree/branch is on private property, the property owner is responsible for removal. Through the Village's brush collection program, residents may set out an unlimited number of properly prepared bundles. See the image below for the guidelines on preparing brush. On 8/27/2024, Mount Prospect was hit with a severe storm resulting in down trees and power lines. Currently, PW crews are focusing heavily on the hardest hit area in town: North of Golf, South of Lincoln, East of Busse Rd and West of Emerson to make those streets passable. If your parkway tree was damaged, please call Public Works at 847-870-5640 to report it. If you have private property brush and limbs generated by the storm, this material must be properly prepared for collection on your scheduled garbage collection day. ⚠️ Earlier this evening, Mount Prospect was hit with a severe storm resulting in downed trees, branches, and power lines. Please be aware of the following:
⁃ There is no impact to emergency services.
⁃ The Village’s Public Works Department is working on clearing roadways. Safe passable streets are currently a top priority. Clearing branches from parkways will follow. Call 847-870-5656 to report damage.
⁃ ComEd is aware of power outages and is working to restore service. The Mount Prospect Fire Department urges everyone to keep away from downed power lines. Do not attempt to move power lines or touch them for any reason.

Sod is installed from April through May and September through November by an approved contractor through the Village’s bid process. Sod is best laid in the early spring before Memorial Day and early/late fall after Labor Day. Sites requiring restoration are tracked throughout the year and completed at the appropriate times. 🚧 Construction Notice: The Cook County Department of Transportation & Highways (CCDOTH) is performing ADA sidewalk and signal upgrades at the intersections Euclid & Wheeling and Euclid & Burning Bush. This work is part of a county-wide project involving over a dozen intersections.
According to CCDOTH, sidewalk work at Euclid is planned to be completed and in service before the start of the school year. Signal work will still be in progress.
Work at Burning Bush will follow. CCDOTH plans to add stone to either the west or east side of the intersection so students crossing Euclid can safely reach Indian Grove School.
