Sponsorship & fundraising builds the financial foundation that underpins the sustainability of netball in our community. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has had a detrimental impact on capacity to meet the club’s operational financial commitments in 2020. Social distancing restrictions have derailed our fundraising efforts. Raising revenue through home games, community BBQ’s and other club events is not an option. Like most other Australian female athletes, our players our full paying members & require the help and support of local businesses, their families, community fundraising and government grants to meet the financial commitments required to play and train at this level. This year we ask for your support in raising $10,000 to cover facility hire, physiotherapy support, coach payments and the equipment and technology costs required to deliver a high-performance training program.

Our players and coaches are outstanding role models for aspiring junior players and young females in the community. They are strong, healthy, active and articulate women who balance the playing and training demands of high-performance sport with other parts of their lives; studying, building careers, parenting and giving back to the community through the Club’s community-based programs. Your support of our club will enable us to continue to provide development opportunities aimed at facilitating, celebrating and promoting the success of these young women.

Netball is more than just a game; our sport empowers women and girls, and we have a genuine ability to build and strengthen capacity in communities. We encourage you to join that community by supporting Melbourne University Lightning in 2020.

Your donation through the Australian Sport Foundation is fully tax deductible and will support aspiring athletes & coaches to pursue their sporting ambition through the COVID-19 pandemic.
