That MONTAG MOMENT in Paris when MDHS student, Jemima Montag, won an Olympic bronze in the 20km Racewalking event🥉💚💛

Quickly after the race, the Master of Public Health student and Athletics club member shared a message for all elite-athletes, “It’s a careful balance between wanting that medal but not needing it. Needing it to define your self-worth but instead wanting it and saying yeah, being tough and giving it a crack. And if it doesn’t happen, the sun will rise tomorrow”

It was this GOAT mindset that got her to pick up the speed in the last 5kms and finish 3rd 🐐

Winning Australia’s first gold medal in the early hours of Sunday, Grace Brown has done both her country and her University community proud!

FUN FACT 🧐: The first time an Australian woman won gold in road cycling event at the Olympics was in 1992 and that medal was brought home by our own Bachelor of Science alum, Kathy Watt!

All Gender Games: A soccer comp that’s truly for everyone🤩🏳️‍🌈

The queer-trans soccer competition for LGBTQIA+ folks which is run by our inclusive friends at is now running training sessions! If you’ve ever had a tough time finding space in gendered and or “regular” competition, this is for you.

FROM ONE DAY TO DAY ONE ➡️: Georgia Rose Brown (Doctor of Physiotherapy) has officially qualified for New Zealand's Olympic team. Having only made her first World Championship appearance at 2011, Georgia has shocked us all with an Olympic qualification! The artistic gymnast is also a Commonwealth Games medallist with 2 silver medals and one bronze medal to her name.

Former Uni Blues Football Club President, Dr Peter Brukner OAM, has been announced as the recipient of the 2023 Outstanding Contribution to Victorian Sport Award by Vicsport

The award is the most prestigious honour bestowed at the Victorian Sport Awards and is presented to an individual or organisation with outstanding achievement in, or contribution to, sport in Victoria. Peter has by far exceeded these expectations with a 50-year-long service to the Uni Blues Football Club, as well as to sports medicine, nutrition and volunteering spanning half a dozen sports and two Olympic campaigns.

Peter will be presented with the award at the 2023 Victorian Sport Awards on Wednesday 12 June.

We now have new TechnoGym cardio equipment in our Beaurepaire Centre gym - treadmills, stairmasters, bikes, and ergs, you name it! We've also got better flooring for you.

Thank you for your patience while we worked on upgrades. We hope you love this news as much as we do

ATTENTION 📣: All our fitness facilities will be closed from Friday 29 March until Monday 1 April for the Easter break. We'll be back to regular hours on Tuesday 2 April with some upgrades taking place in the Beaurepaire Centre gym upstairs 👀👀.
