Ladies and gentlemen, we are hours away from our Community Outing. Our handlers and volunteers are proud to bring you 34 raffle baskets and prizes for tomorrow! Heroes Helping Heroes will have additional prizes for you to win at Bingo! The dunk tank is ready for some strong arms to dunk the Munster Lacrosse athletes volunteering to get a bath. Byway Brewing Co. will have beer flowing for the adults in the cigar and casino lounge.

Come out and support your favorite K9s! We will see you at Centennial Park at 11:00am.

Our handlers, volunteers, and k9's are preparing for tomorrow's event. Many big prizes tomorrow, including polarized Nike sunglasses donated by Dr. Benavente at Benavente Eyecare featuring K9 Lucy and amazing gift baskets donated by Union Recycling!

Our Community Outing would not be possible without the support of all of our local businesses and residents. Jim Lietz stepped up and donated to have a drink cart for our golfers and attendees to keep hydrated during the festivities. A huge shout out to Mr. Lietz, he went the extra mile to reach out to us to donate, a welcome change of the hustle our team has been putting in!

We are less than 30 days away from our 2nd annual MPD K-9 Community Outing Fundraiser. Our local businesses and citizens have been generously donating to help us put on an amazing day!

Ace Hardware donated a brand new Weber grill for our raffles. As a family owned business, Ace recognizes the importance of supporting the community. They are a faithful donor to many of the police department’s community outreach events, and we are grateful to have their support.

Citizens who come out July 6th will be able to donate for raffle tickets for a chance to win the many prizes you will see posted leading up to the event.

Nothing like putting on an outdoor demonstration to celebrate the end of the school year!

A Munster High School student contacted us asking for help completing a project for school. They needed some photogenic subjects for a photoshoot. 3/4 of our K-9s were available and willing to strike a pose!

After hearing news of Tom Skilling’s retirement earlier this year, K-9 Vader decided to take a crack at the television news business. He forecasted a large crowd will gather on July 6th at Centennial Park for the 2nd annual MPD K-9 Golf and Community Outing Fundraiser. 100% chance of fun for all ages that day! He recommends you bring some sunblock and come out to support him and his partners.

What is the definition of being a good neighbor? The Village of Lansing, Lansing Police Department, and namely Deputy Chief Hynek set a very high bar for being just that. When they saw our K-9 Unit was in need of a backup K-9 car, they stepped up BIG. Deputy Chief Hynek worked with his department and the Village officials to donate their unused Crown Victoria K-9 equipped squad car. We cannot say thank you enough for their support.

Our officers have jokingly fought over who gets to drive what is arguably the most beloved police vehicle to grace our profession. K-9 Skye gave the kennel a test run as Munster Public Works mechanics went through and brought this classic up to speed for some more years of service.
