Eating is not just a nutritional activity, it is also a high level sensory activity. For little ones who have sensory aversions, feeding times can be incredibly dysregulating. This was the case for my daughter as an infant. Once we addressed the underlying causes for her food aversions and made food fun through play, feeding times became less stressful for all of us! If meal times are a challenge, I encourage you to reach out. We use responsive feeding approaches to help reduce food aversions related to sensory and oral motor needs.
