Fear of Heights is not REAL! It's actually fear of falling and getting hurt.
When you are protected by a solid fence or know there is a soft mat below you, the fear instantly disappears. In parkour, we overcome the fear of "heights" by training how we land until we are fully confident even if we fall we won't get hurt!
Do you have a fear of heights? Would you love to get over your fears?
Do Parkour with Friends! Parkour is not just...
about learning cool moves. It's about self growth and joining in the culture of movement.
It's way more fun but also way more enriching when you train your movement with other people.
You learn from how they move and you push yourself to do better because they are relying on you and you are on them for inspiration and excitement.
It's Flip Friday!!!
Tag us in your video doing a flip!
What's your favorite flip?
Hanging Drop Precision....read more
This move seems easy, but that's because it is supposed to be a first introduction to higher drops.
In order to do more challenging variations you need to master the simplest form and understand the technique.
Falling is easy, landing on your toes and keeping your balance is the hard part!
Mission Impossible status!!! (Tutorial below)
This move is called the 2-hand Dyno
(Dyno stands for Dynamic movement and comes from the climbing world)
To do a dyno you first need to be able to confidently do the following progressions:
1) Cat hang (hang on wall with feet on flat surface for 10 seconds)
2) Be able to push up and reach your hand to an object above you
3) Do a dyno with one hand, grabbing the next higher object
4) with a spotter or mat under you, commit to both hands jumping at same time
Come learn more parkour moves with us, follow our page for tutorials and inspiration!
Even if you didn't make the jump, you learned!
Every effort is a step towards success. If we never try we can never succeed, and if we never fail it means we never tried.
The cool thing about parkour is how often it teaches us life lessons whether we ask to learn them or not!
What's your favorite life lesson Parkour has taught you?
Did you see his first step??? If you look...
..closely he steps off that tiny block without even looking at it! That's called muscle memory and it happens when you train moves enough that you trust your body to do it on autopilot.
This move is called a "stride" to "underbar"
Stride means - to jump off one leg
Underbar means - to swing under a bar through a gap by kicking your legs forward
Come learn these moves with us at Freedom In Motion

Build Your Own Obstacle Course - Open Gym Challenge
The best part of parkour is there's no right or wrong way to do it! There's your way and my way.
Some ways might be faster or less painful, but when your loving how you move, you are doing something right!!
Come try parkour with us if you live in Murrieta, Riverside, or Loma Linda California!
Wait Until the END!!! Fun fact below ⬇️ ⬇️
How far do you think that drop was?
Disclaimer (He is a level 4 athlete, do not try this without experienced training)
Fun Fact: Many people worry about "our knees" from such big impacts. But mobility specialists all around the world agree, there is no movement that is dangerous for our joints but rather doing something a joint is not prepared for. Chronic overuse injuries can occur in any sport where too much resistance is applied without enough training.
The Parkour community actually has a strong track record of training slow and steady to build strong joints and has athletes competing for world record height drops to hard ground with no sustained damage!

How to balance on high rails ⬇️ ⬇️ 😨
(disclaimer this is a Level 5 student, he has all the prior training needed. Read below to learn our progression for doing this seemingly impossible task)
1) Balance on 1 foot for 10-30 seconds!
2) Balance on a rail that is low to the ground until you can stay on it without falling off
3) Practice the "Rail Bail" where you fall off on purpose with control from a low rail (knee height)
4) Build confidence until you can try from higher rails without fear of tripping or slipping (early on your legs may shake....practice low until you become confident and stable)
5) Stand on a high rail and practice dismounting with a soft surface or spotter below you until you have practiced enough to do it on your own
6) Show off your superpowers!!

Wall Run Tutorial ⬇️ ⬇️
You may think running up a wall is simple watching him, but here's some key steps to master this move faster (and ways you can practice at home or on a wall outside) :
1) Approach slowly at a comfortable speed
2) before trying to run to the top, practice pushing off one foot and landing back on the ground
3) gradually build more speed and push harder
4) commit to full power push off the wall, throw your arms up and reach for the top
REMINDER: landing after a wall run can be higher than you expect. So start slow and build up

The climb up! An under appreciated skill...
If your kid (or you) don't know how to do a climb up, you should learn! It's such a quintessential movement for keeping our bodies useful and strong.
We try to avoid climbing unnaturally in parkour so we don't use our elbows or knees...you would never see a monkey do that, so we push with our hands and step on with our feet!
Next week is Labor Day. Send your kids to our full-day parkour camp!
Your kids can participate in our full-day parkour camp on Monday, September 2nd, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Students will learn a ton of parkour movements and how to do them safely, and then our coaches will show them epic parkour obstacle courses and thrilling parkour games to use their new skills!
Kids return from camp exhausted yet thrilled about their epic day.

How many parkour moves can you name?
Lava Obstacle courses with EXTRA OBSTACLES!
Coach Amy made her class play Hot Lava with extra trickiness. This footwork and focus challenge combined competition, precision, and speed into one challenge.
The coolest part about parkour is you never run the same obstacle course twice, cause there's an infinite set of arrangements from all the different types of obstacles we face!
Try a class, comment "Parkour"
The advanced climb up! (Pt 2)
when you have a wall thats taller than you, the climb up has to include a hanging pull up before you can mount the wall! This move is one of our true tests to see if a student is ready for our level 4 and beyond classes.
If you cant climb up from hanging on a high wall, you aren't safe to try challenges on high walls!
What parkour move do you think is the hardest?

We often hear practice makes perfect, but the truth is, practice makes confidence!
We have to start not knowing anything, then we gather experience until we feel like we can do something we've never done before. We highly encourage all our students to come to open gyms and train at home because the more movement you do the more confident you become!
