ROAD CLOSURES (5:15 p.m.) — The following roads throughout Collier County are closed or flooded due to the tropical storm. This list will be updated:

— Logan Blvd. is impassable from Pine Ridge Road to Vanderbilt Beach Road

— Arbor Blvd is under water from Vineyards Blvd to Fountain Run

— Santa Barbara Blvd is flooded at Green Blvd

— Old Livingston Road is flooded at the intersections of Hunters Road and Sandlewood Lane

— The intersection of San Marco Road and U.S. 41 is closed in all directions due to flooding

— The East Trail of US 41 from Spruce Street to Airport-Pulling has major flooding and several downed trees

— Copper Drive and Frank Whiteman Blvd have standing water at 14th Street N

— Vanderbilt Drive is closed between Wiggins Pass and Dunes Blvd

— Gulf Shore Drive is closed between Vanderbilt Beach and Bluebill

— In the Bayshore Drive area: Danford Street, Becca Avenue, Shoreview Drive, and Weeks Avenue are impassable

— Near Everglades City: Copeland Avenue South and Riverside Drive are impassable. San Marco Drive is flooded between Goodland and US 41

— Manatee Road from Collier Blvd. to US 41 is flooded

Avoid using roadways, if possible, during Tropical Storm Debby. If so, use caution as flooding conditions may worsen, particularly during high tides, Collier County government suggests.

The following Collier roads and connecting streets are closed because of high tide and flooded roadways:
Bayshore Drive
Gulf Harbor Drive
Gulf Shore Boulevard
Hamilton Avenue
North Road
Sandpiper Street

Collier County road maintenance crews continue monitoring conditions. If you see any flooding, please contact 239-252-8924.

Heavy rain, gusty winds and possible flooding are in today’s forecast as Tropical Storm Debby continues its northerly track. We advise everyone to stay off the roads, unless absolutely necessary. Here are things to do that are safer than driving in stormy weather:

-Watch the Olympics and cheer on Team USA!

-Start a rainy day fund with the loose change you find in your couch while watching the Olympics.

-Look at your Northern friends’ photos of themselves on a beach on social media.

-Review your hurricane safety plan and checklist. It’s never too late to start one.

-Delete old emails

-Call your mom

-Organize your kitchen pantry

-Count the falling raindrops
