One of the biggest challenges for leaders and entrepreneurs is to grow your business while still maintaining a great company culture. That’s why serial entrepreneur Elliott Noble-Holt created “Bald Bearded Boss,” a podcast dedicated to helping leaders grow personally and professionally.
Head to https://baldbeardedboss.com/podcast/ to hear motivating conversations with successful leaders and entrepreneurs across a variety of industries.
If you don't hook your audience from the very beginning of an episode, you're definitely losing listeners. In fact, NPR found that most podcast episodes lose 25-30% of their listeners within the first 5 minutes.
Fortunately, there's an easy fix. Rather than diving straight into a scripted intro that explains what the podcast is and what this episode will cover, consider starting with a "gold moment" from later in the episode. Simply choose an interesting clip that's around 30 seconds or less and play it at the top of the episode to draw listeners in and convince them that they should stick around.
Diversity in the workplace doesn't only happen through recruiting and interviewing diverse candidates. Want to take your podcast interview skills to the next level?
Try these simple tips:
- Avoid caffeine right before your recording, it can cause dry mouth. If you can't skip your morning coffee, drink some extra water, too!
- Try out some vocal warmups before you start recording
- Start with small talk before you hit "record" to help you and your guest warm up and get rid of any pre-conversation jitters.
- Prepare basic questions in advance, but don't be afraid to go with the flow of conversation!

How frequently should you release your episodes?
There's no one correct answer to this question, and it all depends on your workflow, your content, and your audience. To help with choosing a release cadence when launching a new podcast or season, consider these questions:
- How many episodes will I have prepared before the season launches?
- How much turnaround time does each episode require?
- Does my audience tend to listen on the day an episode is released, or do most of my downloads happen over time?
- Do my episodes build on each other and tell one story, or does each episode stand alone?
- Are my listeners most active on a certain day of the week?
With these factors in mind, you can find a release schedule that works for you and your team, while also helping your audience build a habit of consistent listening.

When recording remotely, it's important to make sure your guest feels comfortable and equipped to capture the best audio possible.
We recommend sending them a pre-recording checklist with the essential steps they can take to help the interview go smoothly:
- Find a quiet spot where you won't be interrupted
- Make sure your internet connection is strong and your computer's hard drive has plenty of storage
- Use wired headphones with a microphone (ex: Apple ear buds)
- Silence your cell phone and set your computer to "Do Not Disturb"

When was the last time you revisited your podcast outro? A great outro will not only wrap up the show, but also give listeners a roadmap for continuing to engage with your brand.
Your outro should include:
- A reminder to follow, rate and review the show
- A strong call to action, whether that's visiting your website, following you on social media, or sharing the episode with a friend
- A thank you to your listeners
We will be closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We invite you to join us in reflecting on the significance of Dr. King’s life and message.
If you're looking to reach new audiences with your podcast, don't forget to leverage your guests' networks!
Try starting with a simple follow-up email that thanks the guest for their time and lets them know when and where their episode will be released. You may even want to send any audiograms or graphics they can use to promote the episode to their own audiences.
Does your podcast have a landing page?
With this "homepage," you can attract new podcast listeners from search engines, improve your website traffic by converting podcast listeners into website visitors, and make it easy for anyone to find your summary blog posts, transcripts and other resources all in one place.
A podcast landing page should include:
- A description of what the show is about
- A element that points to your show's RSS feed
- Promotions for the 3-6 most recent episodes with links to their individual pages
- Sidebar links to several featured episodes
- "Listen with" badges from the major podcast platforms
If you're getting ready to launch a show or season in the new year, don't forget to create a teaser trailer!
Teaser trailers allow you to submit your show to the podcast directories before your official launch date. They also can:
- Give you content to share on social media
- Let people know to follow your show so they see the first episode when it drops
- Encourage people to rate and review your show
- Serve as a primer for new listeners who want to find out what your show is about, even after you've released other episodes
- Build excitement for your new show
