We are happy to welcome Dr. Jen Furst to the PEAK team! Dr. Jen is an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) who also holds additional certifications in Vestibular Rehabilitation and Concussion Management from the American Institute of Balance (AIB-VR/CON). Dr. Jen has spent most of her career working with Orthopedic and Neurologic conditions, but also works part time in Pediatrics as an Early Intervention Physical Therapist. Dr. Jen is now booking appointments for the end of August. Welcome Dr. Jen!

We are looking for a full-time physical therapist to join our team!

We are a growing practice with a unique mission to help patients reach not only their acute rehabilitation goals, but also to be an integral part of their life-long health and wellness through long-term patient care and programming. We treat with higher level goals and full body strength and mobility in mind.

We will consider all levels of clinical experience and are willing to train as necessary.

Experience with strength and mobility training is a plus. Good communication skills are a must.

Candidate must also be comfortable with:

· providing and attending workshops at the clinic or put on by the clinic

· in person marketing with local businesses

· content production

Due to severe flooding on the night of September 1st, during storm Ida, we have moved to a new location. We are still in Union Square, located in Suite 210. When you come into Union Square, we are located in the first building on your right, first floor. We will have a temporary sign up in the window. If you get to Triumph Brewery you have gone to far. Grab a drink (maybe one for us too) and head back our way.

I am filled with a ton of gratitude. I would like to especially thank Brad Michael for being so quick to act and creating this opportunity. Along with the help of Damian we were able to move our office in 10 hours to a dry location and will be back up and running ready to treat patients on Tuesday September 7th. This move could not have been accomplished without the help of Jenn, Michelle, Aiden, Ernesto, Efrain, and my husband Kyle. Thank you.

And thank you to all of our patients for your patience 😊 Now and moving forward. We are what we are because of you.

We are happy to be hosting a wellness event at our clinic on Monday March 29th at 5:00 pm. Sarina Snell will be presenting the Arbonne 30 days to healthy living program. We are an outpatient private physical therapy practice, and we pride ourselves in hands-on individualized care. We treat a wide range of patients, in age and pathology, most of whom are orthopedically based. We are currently in search of a physical therapy aide for a part-time position starting at $9/hr. Experience working in a physical therapy clinic is preferred but not required. Below are some of the required roles of the position:

• Setting up patients for treatment at beginning and end of session
• Aiding patients through exercise programs set by the physical therapist
• Cleaning of treatment tables and patient equipment
• Answering phones
• Basic front desk computer work

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday afternoon/evening availability required. Other weekday hours may be offered based on applicant’s daytime availability.

We are instituting a couple of exciting changes to our COVID-19 mitigation plan and wanted to share with you.

A concern we had was the increased use of toxic, potentially harmful chemicals, which were approved by the EPA as effective disinfectants against SARS-CoV-2.

We have now changed our cleaning product to hypochlorous acid, which is safe, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.

"Hypochlorous acid is a powerful antioxidant and is 100 times more efficient at killing bacteria than chlorine bleach or sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl). Hypochlorous acid is safe and natural. It is found in our blood as one of the most powerful biological oxidants generated by our white blood cells against invading pathogens."

Another change being instituted is the installation of the Air Oasis Purifier into all HVAC units.

Air Oasis is an air purification system that uses ionization to clean the air of mold, pathogens, bacteria, VOCs and viruses. A technology that was used in the NASA space station, it now has been modified for home and commercial use.

Now as the air in the office is circulated through the HVAC system, it will continuously be purified.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic we have instituted several changes to protect the safety of our patients and providers while in our clinic and our care.

- Scheduling has been altered to hour blocks allowing fewer people in the clinic at one time.

- The clinic design has been re-arranged to accommodate the CDC recommended 6 feet apart between treatment tables.

- Dividers for between treatments tables are available.

- All cleaning products have been selected from the EPA approved list of disinfectants used against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

- Restrooms are equipped with touch-less soap and paper towel dispensers.

- Alcohol based hand sanitizers are available.

- Successful training and examination on "Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19" was completed through OSHA and their existing standards.

We are a small privately owned practice. You can expect, now and always, a safe and caring environment with one on one personalized care for you and your loved ones.

Spine stretching sequence :) Adapted from child's pose and its variations, the key throughout this sequence is to actively pull from both ends of the spine, proximal (the hands and arms) and distal (the pelvis and hips). This will allow you to feel a deeper stretch.

1) Starting on your hands and knees, align your hands so they are right under your shoulders, and your knees so they are under your hips. Reach your hands out in front of you and then bring your sit bones back toward your heels. You may not get all the way down and that is ok! Key is once you are in your position, reach your hands forward and tuck your tailbone down.

2) Come back to the start position and reach your hands up and out to the right. Sit your left sit bone back and down. Again, your end position is what your body will allow you to reach. What is important is that in your end position actively reach your hands up and out to the right and tuck your left sit bone back and down.

3) Repeat step two but to the left

4) Back again to the start position, hands under shoulders, knees under hips. Take your left hand and reach it under your right arm dropping your left shoulder down toward the mat. Try and keep your hips above your knees (I have trouble doing so, it's hard when you are tight in rotation!) and actively reach your right arm through to the right bringing your left shoulder with you to increase your rotation.

5) Repeat step 4 but to the right

And that's the sequence. Feel free to hold the positions as long as you like, 5 - 60 seconds. Great for first thing in the morning to shake off the cobwebs, as well as at night to wind down and prep for a better sleep.
